Have Carmarthenshire Council and Dyfed Powys Police acted illiberally?

The blogger and campaigner, Jacqui Thompson was last week arrested, handcuffed, marched to a police car, and then detained at a police station for two hours. All she had done was to film a public meeting of Carmarthenshire Council on her camera read on…..

Heather Brooke, the campaigner who used the Freedom of Information Act to expose the MP’s expenses scandal, has picked this up!

If Carmarthenshire County Council wanted to keep their scandals quiet, they seem to be achieving the exact opposite!

  1. Good on Heather Brooke and just so that Jacqui doesn’t feel lonely, we at Rotherham are very familiar with similar misuses of power – here the council even arrests borough councillors for simply asking probing questions!!!

  2. I think I am the Jacqui Thompson of Watton Town Council in Norfolk. I am a member of the public but since receiving an insulting letter from WTC Chairman last May, who just happens to be 2nd in charge at Breckland District Council, I have been fighting to get some sort of apology. I am still fighting and will not give up. All the very best to Jacqui. I really do admire her.
