Last night Borough Councillor Shabana Ahmed broke cover to bring us this statement:
“I wasn’t intending to comment publicly this early in my political position but since my name has been mentioned along with the other women Cllrs I feel I need to make my position clear.
As a mother myself I am horrified at some of the cases in the media and also the recent case of child exploitation in Rotherham.
As someone who has worked with children and families for the last 15 years I know only too well the devastating effects of sexual exploitation especially against children.
I am on the Improving Lives Overview and Scrutiny Select Commission
and although I am a new member I will be making absolutely sure that we are doing everything possible to protect our children and that we are not only implementing all the recommendations of the serious case review as stated by senior officers and we look even deeper in to our processes and protocols to ensure we have systems in place that would flag up any potential risks and then ensure appropriate and robust action is taken to make the potential victims safe and at the same time prosecute the offenders.
Also I will be wanting to satisfy myself that our assessment process via family common assessment framework is robust and we have the necessary systems in place for the early assessment processes to flag up and identify any need for early interventions of support for young people and families as a preventative measure thus ensuring the family have the right package of support available, with on going assessments taking into consideration differing needs at different times.”

So “early” in her “political position” and yet she’s already on the ‘additional responsibilities’ band wagon.
Ah, yes, I see now, she’s from t’Laybah Lot.
Yes chuck, there’s a lot of people “horrified”, but it’s you and your mate Dodger that needs to be using Rotherham Council resources to do something about it, rather than using those resources to go swanning off on some junket or other!

Not sure sure what she’s actually said. It’s just a s**tstorm of bureaucrat-speak. I think the lady would benefit from a visit to Vision Express – she’s a entered a room full of elephants and failed to notice any of them.

Three questions spring immediately to mind;
Were you completely unaware of CSE in Rotherham?
During your 15 years working with children and families and knowing ‘only too well the devastating effects of sexual exploitation especially against children’ did you report any of these cases to the Police?
What proactive steps did you take to protect vulnerable children?

Well Shabana I have just read your twaddle. There is nothing you can say or do that will redeem you in anyone’s eyes. Basically your silence and lack of action has sealed your ‘career’ – I would quit now before you are forced out.
Also if what everyone is currently writing about you and Asbo Akhtar is true then you deserve the contempt currently being shown to you. If however you are innocent and are being wronged then why are you so silent?

Ordinarily Rothpol doesn’t do morals, any more than we do religion, however in Jahangirs case, his morals go to the heart of his political philosophy!
Quite simply he doesn’t appear to do morals or basic honesty as part of his ‘public life’.
That is why it is now all coming tumbling out!

Some anonymous contributors are alleging/hinting this, but I would have thought it is just scullious nonsense. It is easy to say, but seemingly impossible to back up with evidence.
