Rotherham By-Election – Omar Mehban Declares Candidacy

Important Announcement…

by sirm1991

At the end of the 2012 local elections, I had learnt an important lesson. I didn’t like our politics, and I knew Rotherham deserved better.

Unfortunately, we have had cover-ups and political scandals of epic proportions in this last year, culminating in our former MP resigning after fiddling his expenses.

As a proud citizen of Rotherham, I am no longer prepared to tolerate this kind of disrespect to the hard working people of our town. I care about Rotherham, so I intend to put my name forward to stand as an Independent candidate in Rotherham’s by-election on the 29th November 2012.

I believe Rotherham is desperate for a new politics, a genuine politics and a politics where the people are empowered, not ignored. Over the next week or so, I will start to canvass opinion across our town and put forward reasonable and rational proposals to resurrect people’s belief in their MP and their town.

Rotherham needs to be brave enough to vote Independent and demand change from decades of Labour rule. If I am elected, my main priority will be to re-establish the power of democracy’s finest gem; its people. However, I cannot embark on such a colossal mission alone. I need your help.

Please email me if you can help my campaign, in any way possible. Let’s fight for the future of Rotherham together!

Why dont you STAND AS AN “RESPECT PARTY CANDIDATE”
YOU WILL GET MORE VOTES FOR THAT PARTY THEN GET VOTES FOR THE PARTY YOU WILL STAND FOR YAAR
JUST COME DOWN TO ROTHERHAM TOWN AT 4PM, WE WILL BE HELPING YOU YAAR
EVERYONE IS GOING TO LISTEN TO George Galloway yaar
if you want votes and people helping you to campaign why dont you join Respect Party you will get a better chance then joining other parties as this is a legitimate party and it is a famous party to stand for yaar

    • Umair, I said I intend to stand, not that I definitely will. I don’t intend to leave the Monster Raving Loony Party, the only party that makes sense imo, that’s why I’d rather stand as Independent, for the good of Rotherham. If someone like Peter Thirlwall stands, then I’ll happily withdraw my own application. Thank you for the advice though.

    • Oh my days!!! If this is the quality of written and spoken English of the Respect party I pray to god they do no get elected. Just when I thought we could not do any worse than the theiving Macshane, we could end up with a bunch of Gangster wannabes. I hope the people of Rotherham have some semblance of sanity and not vote these baboons in!!!!

      • Vakas, without wishing to appear in any way pedantic, the word God is usually written in English with a capital “G” when referring to the deity.

The buffoons of whom you speak are already in place in the form of the RMBC Corn Fed Grunters, Muppets and Clowns backed up by “Phuket” Barron, our esteemed former collier.

I think that Gawjus George and Yvonne Ridley represent a breath of very fresh Spring air in our battered and baffled town. We’ve had the Prague Spring, the Arab Spring, now we are no doubt bound for Da Rovrum Spring.

Could there be any truth in the rumour that smelly khaki underwear is now uniform de-rigeur among those barricaded in Town Hall Towers?

I want to know one thing what is wrong
    With omar joining RESPECT party,
If he wants to join respect let him, why you downgrading a person from helping or joining respect party, if you look at it I am not good fan of politics the way I look at it,
We all live in a democratic state not in a council state who we should vote for, people like yourself don’t understand that, if you say that Rotherham is not like Bradford, but it is alot smaller but if someone wants to help for respect party let them, my brother in life you win, some you lose some, we as a community need to achieve who ever is our leader there will need to fullfill the promise what was given to them not go around degrading people profiles, saying George Galloway can’t do anything in Rotherham, let me ask you something as you oppose George Galloway, our leader Dennis Macshane was a strong supporter of isreal people like you helped him to win elections by supporting him, I don’t think about politics but we need to be united if RESPECT going to stand, look GEORGE GALLOWAY WAS ONE MAN IN BRADFORD, he changed the politics no one looked at the majority, if you look at it that way LABOUR PARTY was a stronghold in BRADFORD WHY DID ALL OF A SUDDEN IN TWO WEEKS HE SWIPED BRADFORD OFF THE MAP, WHERE WAS THE STRONGHOLD, I just want to say every ward in BRADFORD voted for GEORGE GALLOWAY, so if you think respect can’t win then TELL YOUR LABOUR PARTY PEOPLE TO STAY AT HOME DON’T CAMPAIGN, As you know that will never happen look if your saying it is safe Labour seat then WHY IS THE LABOUR PARTY PEOPLE COMPLAINING YOU SHOULD LET RESPECT DO THERE CAMPAIGNING, if you say Labour is going to win, WHY DID THERE NOT WIN IN BRADFORD THAT WAS A SAFE LABOUR SEAT.
ANSWER ME THAT, THAT’S FACTS BRO, we needed to be united thinking and saying one party going to win, THAT’S BEEN IMPARTIAL IN OUR COMMUNITY AS WE NEED TO LOOK AT CHANGES NOT DIFFERENCES, there may have a chance we can not deny ther parties for coming out and campaigning.
I am not against no one, people like YOU TO SAY LABOUR GOING TO WIN, I AM NOT DENYING THAT THERE WILL WIN YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THE BNP EDL STANDING CANDIDATE THERE RIGHT TO DO SO, BUT WE NEED TO BE UNITED AND THAT’S PART OF LIFE. WE LIVE IN A COMMUNITY FULL OF HATRED, LOOK IF THE LABOUR COUNCIL WAA THAT GOOD WHY DID THERE NOT STOP NATIONAL FRONT OR EDL, we need to understand everyone make mistakes, people in our community makes mistakes, for a person to dishonour and judge GEORGE GALLOWAY PARTY IN ROTHERHAM IT’S WRONG, as people in ROTHERHAM ARE WORRIED AND SCARED THERE MAY TAKE THE VOTES,LIKE WHAT GEORGE GALLOWAY DID IN BRADFORD, THERE KNOW THIS WILL HAPPEN IN ROTHERHAM.
WE AS A COMMUNITY NEED UNITY NOT DIVISION.

    • 1) Rotherham is not bradford as the demographics aren’t the same, there isn’t enough aisans to swing around a majority of 10,000
      2) If Mahroof Hussain is the candindate then why will fed up aisans have to revert to the Respect party when we have a real good muslim figure for the Labour Party.
      3) Reading your writing is real hard work, I advise you to undertake some English lessons.

If Labour Party does win, it will be good, but we are not saying there either going to win or lose but our community need unity, by potraiting an image that GEORGE GALLOWAY IS NOT WELCOME IN ROTHERHAM IT IS BEEN NEGATIVE IN THE COMMUNITY, WE ARE DOING THINGS &NOT HELPING OUR COMMUNITY WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER FOR THE FUTURE AND DO WELL.
THE REASON I HAVE GOT SPELLING MISTAKES I AM TYPING ON MY IPHONE THAT’S WHY I CAN’T GET THE RIGHT WORDING AND TEXT ON HERE.
WE HOPE EVERY PARTY DOES WELL BUT WE NEED TO WORK WITH PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY.
NO MATTER WHERE THERE FROM AND WHAT THERE ARE LIKE, We need to be united and fight people who are corrupt and leading the whole community to shame like our leader DENNIS MACSHANE.
WE HOPE WHO EVER WINS THERE WILL BE GOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY AND DO WELL FOR OUR COMMUNITY.
