Rotherham Politics 
Excellent result for UKIP. Once again the Compliant Drones have fallen back on tribal loyalty to elect a woman they know nothing about other than she wore a red rosette.
Cameron is headed for defeat at the next GE and a vote for UKIP will NOT lead to the election of a Labour government. Marginal Labour seats are just as vulnerable as Tory marginals to UKIP supporters and voters so Ed Rubberband must not think that he and his cronies are safe either.

Two interesting outcomes from this by-election: the rise in support for UKIP and the emergence of Respect from nowhere to nearly 1,800 votes in a few weeks. Two parties with vastly different sets of beliefs. The only problem for UKIP is that despite what they say, most of their support comes from disaffected tories or tories simply voting tactically thinking that UKIP has a better chance and that support could easily evaporate with a firmer Euro-sceptic line from the Government. They simply do not have have a big enough pool in places like South Yorkshire. Respect might actually have a better chance in the long term and especially in those, mostly deprived areas, where Labour takes its support for granted and where there is no credible alternative. Less strident rhetoric and a concentration on issues relevant to local people might pay electoral dividends. Are they up for the challenge.

They are fed-up of the prejudice against them and are at last having the courage to speak out against the ‘politically correct’ racist council. Common purpose trainees will be ‘outed’ including Joyce Thacker and Sara Champion.

Respect didn’t come from nowhere – they are the now the party of choice for Muslims but for noone else and the fact that you think they have any chance of ever appealing to the WWC makes me think you don’t live in Rotherham (or know any working class or lower middle class people). Theres far more chance of a WWC vote in Rotherham voting Tory than Respect.

That’s interesting. Most muslims didn’t vote respect infact alot didn’t vote anyone. But those of em that are fed up with corrupt politics and cover ups who are non racist did.
If respect wete a muslims party they’d have got loads more votes. Respect was anti cuts to welfare, anti public sector cuts including hospital and wanted transparency in council ie.no cover ups. Sounds like a socialist agenda to me.
I’m from Rotherham not an outa towner. I can’t see the logic of how it’s insinuated to be just for muslims. I agree respect want our troops home asap but isn’t that what we all want? A non offensive response from a decent English man or woman woild be appreciated.

Excellent result for UKIP! Unfortunately, there will always be the ‘thick as the proverbial’ Socialists, it’s in their bones, they cannot see further than their telly, cans and far too ample Benefits package. Dock their Benefits and they might just have to start thinking for themselves.

It would be interesting (for me at least) to know how many of Labour’s votes came from people who actually had a job. Tribal loyalties count a lot when the ‘something for nothing’ party finds a captive and receptive audience in the Compliant Drones ready to swallow another load of Bovine Excrement.

That’s true. Respect is supporting what old fashioned labour values were. Ukip is taking the stand against political correctness gone mad. Trouble is Ukip can’t be trusted because of its wooly racist stance and Respect well we need to know more about em and their policies.

You know, rubbishing Labour voters makes me really angry. Just who do you think you are? What makes you think you are so superior to anyone who votes Labour? Stereotyping and personal insults show your own lack of character.
Many Labour voters do so because they have grown up with the knowledge that only Labour have traditionally cared about working class people. Their loyalty may be misplaced today, but you must not doubt their sincerity and beliefs or their reasons for believing them.
I left the Labour Party some years ago and hold strong views about today’s Labour Party, but I would never insult or personally vilify any Labour voter. I have and will continue to question the validity of voting Labour in this byelection I have and will continue to castigate Labour MP’s who milk the system and fail to deliver what they are supposed to.
In the recent by election – I wish Labour had received a bloody nose, I made my views well known on twitter, but I have no right to judge others and make derogatory personal assumption’s as to why they chose to vote Labour.
I would have liked Labour to have lost this byelection to teach them a lesson. I would not like them to lose a general election because I believe this Tory/LibDem government cares not a jot for ordinary people. And that means you who despise those who voted Labour yesterday, do not for one moment think this government cares about you. You aren’t wealthy or powerful enough to gain from them -whatever you may think of yourselves.
You are only a short step away from unemployment or illness, then you will see how much this bunch of misfits cares about you and your family.
Remember -there but for the grace of God go I !
Have some empathy and compassion for others less fortunate one day you might need some yourselves.

Define “Working Class” for me. Skilled tradespeople are C2,Students and Police Officers are C1. Social class ‘D’ is Semi-skilled and unskilled and ‘E’ is persons either retired on the State Pension or living on benefits. Do you honestly think classes ‘D’ &’E’ all vote Labour?
‘Working Class’ is a state of mind,not a statement of fact. Now I think about it what does
millionaire,owner of five homes Ed Rubberband know about living on the basic wage?
Private school,university and straight into his first job as a television journalist and then a Labour Party researcher, before rising to become one of Chancellor Gordon Brown’s confidants and Chairman of HM Treasury’s Council of Economic Advisers.
Not what you’d call rising through the ranks is it?
Take off your rose tinted spectacles and see the political world as it is.

Everyone who has to work for a living is working class, whatever they may now think of themselves.

If the allegation that two experience Labour councilors met with the Rotherham Taxi trade and in the hope of their and their families vote suggested the Taxi testing station could be moved into Rotherham is scandalous .
Could the reason being that some and very vocal taxi drivers do not like how the test is carried out, carried out by qualified mechanics to high standards, I am sure the legal team at May Gurney will have something to say over this attempt to take hard earned business away from them.
No doubt if the move happens it will be to a garage of a friend of a friend who married into the family, so much for public safety!
Must go, off to contact the legal beagles at May Gurney.

Rotherhams new MP, Ms 13 Chumpion, hit the ground running on saturday for her first surgery.
She is believed to be unhurt.
Streetpride is to investigate damage to the town hall plaza.
Its been verified by a labour source that she is unlikely to take her seat in commons. As She is out annoying pensioners on doorstep after dark.

Magna count. It was great to have kev with me at count and my labour prepared acceptance speech.
Kev has been there since day one. He is my groomer.
He will show me how to get the most out of my exes altho iam alreeady loaded. I also had the leader johnny waljer there who was in hi spirits due to the antics of our resident thug. Lets just carry on and have a clean sweep under the townhall carpet.

She is an alumni of the University of Sheffield, Psychology 1991. IN 1996 she went to work at the the Chinese Arts Project in Manchester. She was born in the South East. and apparently came up to Sheffield to do her degree and stayed.

Very strange definition of ‘working class’. To take your limited view to the nth degree do you consider Speaker John Bercow to be ‘working class’? He’s an ex Tory MP if you did’nt know? Or is Ed Rubberband ‘working class’? Is the Master of the Rolls or the Attorney General ‘working class’? Is the consultant surgeon who operated on my wife a few years ago ‘working class’?

Our Nigel nearly gave his life to stand against some one you said was an ex MP, that’s very relevant. The very important job of speaker his always held by a sitting MP.That’s not being pedantic, but and important fact.The speaker is not supposed to vote, but they did do under Callaghan’s government.
