Abdul Razaq – a response

Rotherham Politics has agreed to publish this response from Abdul Razaq, an occasional commenter on Rothpol, to an article on the scurrilous website Rothpoltake2, concerning himself.

Despite repeated attempts, that blog does not seem willing to publish this. Considering the libellous nature of the post in question, publishing a response, should have been the least they could do.

“Yes I was, and am, a taxi driver just like Cllr Akhtar was, and that I am much better at the job then he ever was.

I took RMBC to court over the provision of the service for the wheel users where Cllr Akhtar and labour mob opposed and told lies in the court. Isn’t it a well known fact Cllr Akhtar?

I am NOT a member of Lib-dem as stated in the article, so your wrong YET again, but would not be shamed of it if I was still member, it is not the killer of millions of innocent people like labour.

As far as my two sons are concerned, yes they were found guilty in the case, but the situation of the girls involved was they were neglected by the parents and authorities including the rotten borough and police. They were groomed in Maltby and police and RMBC failed to protected them and these lads are paying the price.

The 8 Asian taken to court 5 found guilty . The 3 found not guilty
– 2 close friends of Cllr Akhtar and his cronies,
– 1 nephew of Cllr Shaukat Ali and brother of then lady mayoress.

Joyce Thacker in her interview stated that one of these girls stated that she had sex with 28 men, where are other 20′ why they have not been caught and why this information was not given to the court.

I wonder if one of those 20 is Cllr Akhtar ( I have a copy of this article and I can produce it unlike the Respect fake leaflet).

Further more I personally have never been involved with any case as the rumours are about Cllr Akhtar that he tried with a 15 year old girl a friend of his daughter.

Also I have no criminal records as Cllr AKHTAR has.

As far he job at Unity Centre is concern I probably have more management experience and qualifications than Cllr Akhtar and both sons put together.

Management qualification from Hallam University And Sandwell management University.
Worked as manager of 3 organisations.

So Cllr Akhtar stand upto facts and stop making stupid excuses.

You are a convicted criminal. You were an average taxi driver.

You have run the Unity Centre, with the help of your cronies, for the benefit of you and your family, at the expense of public funds.

You are a useless councillor, who got there by crooked and corrupt means.

Take note I will not be intimidated by you or your cronies.”

  1. More power to your elbow Abdul.
If only others who have been abused by Akhtar had the same courage as you to expose his lies and deceit perhaps Rotherham would be rid of this thug.
    Well done for posting.

EX-Deputy Leader Akhtar is out. I don’t think he will be missed.

I have a question: does his removal from RMBC affect his control of the Unity Centre or is he free to use it to try and rebuild his political career?

    • Akhtar has no direct involvement with the Unity Centre – he resigned as Trustee in January 2014. He could return as a Trustee if the other Trustees invite him, or he could apply to become an employee, but neither option would seem to be a good career.
Given that (according to something I read somewhere) three of our new UKIP councillors are ex-tory, maybe he should go along the same career route. UKIP would probably welcome such a young and experienced campaigner.

  7. Unity centre should never have been used as family and personal benefits of any one. The RMBC and cronies on the management committee of the centre should be made accountable, as public funds have been used to set up and run the centre, for so many years. Another labour’s failure. Can you imagine how in total it cost the tax payer? How we go about it I sure we can have more contribution from other people

  8. I think people have expressed their feelings in the way they voted. Bottom line is; the good folk of Masbrough & Ferham fell out of love with Akhtar a long time ago. How can an individual with a Criminal Record rise to become the Deputy Leader of the local Authority?, It’s simply outrageous. Is it no wonder our town is being referred to as “Rotten Borough” in certain media outlets.
Eye witness accounts suggest Akhtar was wondering around like a Rabied Dog whilst the vote was being counted. Once the votes had been tallied and Akhtar realised the game was up, he left the scene with a toilet seat hanging around his neck!!!

    • Lizzy I can not recall any where where I have stated that my sons are blames less. I said SOME of these girls are from DIFFICULT homes and that the AUTHORITIES including RMBC and POLICE have failed to PROTECTED these girls as the girls were wondering in Rotherham at late hours and drinking and smoking and some using drugs. I never condoned rape or under age sex regardless who is involved. The authorities are probably are more to blame as these girls were into drugs and alcohol years before my they met these Asian men including my sons. Joyce Thacker said in news paper article that one of the girls had sex with 28 men. ( I have a copy of this article if anyone wish to see it) you se where are other 20′ is the authorities doing there job right leaving 20 of these men on our streets without any attempt to catch them. Some of information in your blogg is new to me. So I can not comment on it. I do NOT NOW or BEFORE or in FUTURE condone ANYONE acting violent or offensive or against the law.
I am sorry if I offended you by anything I said. I try to be honest and fair . I still think that if the authorities ( police & social services) done their job as they should have then we all would in better position
Petrol bombing and threats you mentioned this again is new to me and if my sons were involved then I apologise and sympathies had you told me then I will have been first person to reported it to police and do what ever I can to stop this. Finally I can understand your frustration I would feel like you if I was in your shoes. Right now I can do much more to say sorry and in future if any one from close family is involved as such please inform me and you can rest assure that you will find me on the side lawfull and right people not on side of someone just because they related to me.

  13. Lizzy Well I never met any of the girls and I have stated the information from the press etc. even in court if I remember it correctly (reading in paper )was stated that these girls were ‘groomed for sex by supply of drugs cigarettes and alcohol. Also please I never said that all or any particular girls was into theses I said SOME were. Those who got away were probably more to blame and I am not siding my sons please but merely going by the information. The reason here is that 1 was brother of the then lady mayoress, nephew of Cllr. Ali and relative of Cllr maroof Hussain , the other two were very close to ex Cllr akhatar and ex council deputy leader and his friends. RMBC and police I think worked together for this. The reality is that we living in corrupt authority and we all have suffered. I think all the enquiries held if they tried to really get to the bottom of the problem then they would have found that the authorities colluded to protect themselves and their inefficiencies and these three would not have got away. I believe that these so called enquiries were just formalilties to fool public. Finally re Joyce Thacker If you look in the Star of 05 November, 2010 it says ‘ one girl at the heart of the Rotherham abuse case had sexual contact with 28 men, starting when she was 11. Aged 16 at the time, the oldest victim is now 18. Police and council say she is putting her life back together successfully.
But in Sumer 2008 she and the two were regularly taking drugs, drinking and leaving themselves vulnerable to men many years older.’ So I am not sure whether Thacker actually said this but her picture appears on the article.
As you say she (Thacker ) ‘ sit filling reports out’ this was the problem they filled the reports and got cheque every month without any accountability . If they did their work properly this could have been avoided

    • Lizzy i can assure that i have known Abdul Razak whole of my life and he is a man of principal.
He treats everyone with respect and what his sons did was wrong and as an honest person he has said a number of times that they are guilty.
The people who should be accountable are social services, RMBC, police, the councillors such as Jahngir Akhtar, Mahroof Hussain and board members for the protection of children services?
Mr Razak is right why havent Mahroof and Shokat Ali nephew were not prosecuted, Jahgnir Akhtar neighbour/ best friend son was not prosecuted.
Why when the so called deal with police and Jahgnir Akhtar his nephew as per The Times article last year still hasnt been prosecuted.
Because these councillors have a deal with the police.
The evidence is there and witnesses but they choose to ignore.
These so called councillors have wifes, daughters, sisters and grand daughters and if anyone even looked at them they would beat the person black and blue then report the family for benfit and council tax fraud and make sure police are sent to the persons house to shame them.
And openly these 3 councillors are drinking, smoking drugs, having affairs with married women, have children to different women, robbing post offices, commiting adultry and beating innocent people, these people are backed up the so called Sajid Bostan, Mansha Hussain and the other so called cronies to cover there tracks.
I can assure you police are aware and the only reason is you scratch my back i will scrath yours.
The classic quote these people use are if you take any action you are labelled a racist.

  14. Sorry to sound all wishy-washy again, but is anyone else feeling uncomfortable that a thread of this nature is being played out on a politics blog? I’m not convinced this is the appropriate venue for it. I have no idea whether the posters are who they claim to be, but I know one thing – these are real events concerning real children and are not to be casually banded about as a point scoring exercise against the fmr Cllr Akhtar.
This thread is a strange mix of Mr Razaq (if it is him) seeming to still want to blame the children equally with his adult child abusing sons, with some SERIOUS accusations of the worst kind thrown in for good measure with no substantiation from Mr Razaq and the anonymous posters, mixed in with legitimate political issues concerning REMA, the Unity Centre and election night, now journeying into a conversation between an understandably distraught mother of a victim (if it is her) and the father of her daughter’s abusers.
There should absolutely be a forum for ‘Mr Razaq’ and ‘Lizzy’ to air their views and feelings, but should it be Rothpol? Does this blog now need the moderator to actually do some moderating? I don’t see much sensitivity in the way this issue is being handled on this thread.
Rik, I love you man and massive respect for shining a light on Rotherham’s darker corners, but just saying: ‘In need of some caveats, ‘allegedly’ for one.’ is not moderating and Rotherham’s shameful CSE scandal shouldn’t be diminished by appearing alongside unsubstantiated claims of ‘fake post office robberies’ and such.
CSE was and remains Rotherham’s low point and this blog and it’s contributors have done sterling work in calling for real investigations and ensuring that those are carried out properly. That is Rothpol at it’s best. Dare I suggest that this thread could be seen as Rothpol at it’s worst?
Wild claims by anonymous posters are becoming the new norm and I’ll be honest, I don’t like it.
This is Rothpol… We love it, we loathe it, but we always respect it. Don’t let it become like RPt2. The victims of CSE deserve better than a platform that they have to share with point scoring trolls.
Apologies for rambling on this one, but this thread bothers me in ways that other threads don’t.

I only then send my reply to Rothpol and Rothpol kindly published it. I have every sympathies with the victims and there families but a reply some times may upset some readers, this may be totally unintentional. It was never intended to score points in any sense, of course stating some facts may seem like it and also I do not need to score anything against Akhtar as I have intention of standing against him in any elections or selections neither I want to take over Unity Centre or take up employment there. What I have said in my replies I believe it to be true and if any one can point out to if I have made wrong statement please be kind enough to do so . I will be very glad to either put it right and apologise or give reasons and evidence.
Should this blogg be on here or not , it is a matter of opinion and I respect your opinion. I do not see much wrong with it apart from May be we should more careful re cse victims and their families. I do apologies if any one was or is offended and upset.
It certainly not an point scoring exercise against Akhtar merely a reply to him and his rubbish.

  16. Thanks for replying Abdul (forgive the informality, I hope it’s okay.) Let me start by saying that I genuinely respect the fact that you have not hidden away. It shows a courage that I don’t think I’d have in your position. Some might say brass neck, but I’ll say courage.
I stand by what I said about there needing to be a space for you to express yourself; we don’t hear enough from the parents of abusers and rapists and maybe we should. Something went terribly wrong in your sons’ lives for them to think it was okay to have sex with underage girls – regardless of the girls’ own alleged inappropriate behaviour, which I might add is utterly irrelevant – and if we can understand what it was, maybe we can prevent it in other young men. This is not to imply that the fault lies with you. If only we parents were the only influence on our kids, but we’re not. As a parent myself, I also understand the burning desire to protect and defend our children. But as a father to daughters, I cringe when I hear you attempt to mitigate the burden of guilt that you believe your children should shoulder, by shifting some of that guilt onto the victims. It’s too close to the old ‘she was asking for it’ syndrome that I hoped had gone forever. I find it disrepectful to women in general, and appalling for the victims in this particular case.
That said, I share your concerns, as would many on here, that not every abuser has seen justice, but that isn’t an excuse to accuse others of serious crimes against children without any evidence. In your initial posting which starts the thread, you propagate a rumour that the fmr Cllr attempted a relationship with a 15 year old. That would not only be inappropriate on RPt2, it’s inappropriate on any blog, including this one. There is no worse accusation levelled against a man than child abuse, and to blithely throw it out there so casually, without any evidence, is shocking. It shocks me that Rik allowed it, and it shocks me that further accusations have been allowed without evidence. I would stress that newspaper articles, however well researched they may be, do not constitute evidence. It seems to me that you, and some of the anonymous posters have used this thread to throw out as many rumours and accusations as you can in the hope that it will deflect at least some of the attention away from the actions of your sons. If that were true, it would be understandable, if unpalatable.
I have no reason to think that all the supportive comments on here are anything less than genuine, or that you are indeed a good man who cares about his community, but I’m afraid you cannot answer my main question as to whether this thread is an appropriate forum for you. You, your friends, even ‘Lizzy’ have such a vested interest in getting your versions of events out there, that any and all available options would be seized upon. So the question of whether a political blog is the right stage or not must be left to the readers of this blog, those with no connection to the case. I fully appreciate that I may be in the minority in my view that this is a thread that needed some serious moderation, and if others disagree with me, so be it.
Once again though, I do respect you for engaging with the public when I’m sure it would have been easier not to, but I hope you respect my discomfort with the manner in which you have engaged, from your first post intended for RPt2 right through to your conversation with ‘Lizzy’ which, if she really is the mother of one of the victims, must have… In fact, I can’t even imagine how awful some of your comments must have been for her to read. I’ll finish with this; if you do eventually stand against fmr Cllr Akhtar for public office, I for one will definitely want you on this blog. I think it’s fair to say that that would be a campaign that would set this blog on fire.

My question is when you search RMBC website why havent the local authority not updated there website with reference to UKIP Councillors.
Why is he still telling people his still the councillor for West Ward.
