BBC Asian Network – Yorkshire Muslim girl speaks of grooming ordeal

Yorkshire Muslim girl speaks of grooming ordeal

By Shabnam Mahmood

A report has lifted the lid on the sexual exploitation of at least 1,400 children in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, by gangs of men who were predominantly of Pakistani origin. Although most of the victims were white, some were also Asian.

A teenage Muslim girl has told the BBC how she was groomed and then sexually abused by gangs of men in Yorkshire. Read in full and watch video click here.

  1. I feel for this girl. She and other Muslim girls like her have suffered as much as any other victim and their suffering is being overlooked. Thankfully she escaped the clutches of monsters.

However, the headline from the BBC is interesting in such that they use the term Muslim in relation to a victim.

‘Yorkshire Muslim girl speaks of grooming ordeal’

I assume then, using BBC logic, that:
    Pakistani Muslim Paedophiles = ASIAN
    Pakistani Muslim Victims = MUSLIM

If one of the Muslim Paedophiles came forward and gave an inside story – the headline would read: Yorkshire Muslim Man Speaks of Life as a Groomer.

    But, it wouldn’t. Would it?

  2. Felt sorry for this girl too, when she beg the researcher for a hug, made you realise what animals these abusers are and there still walking about with an air of respectability. Her father has been a star, the pain he must be feeling for his daughter, yet he’s stood by her and helping all he can. He’s suffering like the rest of the victims families are in the sorry tragedy. Can’t tell how much contempt I have for this community and the aurthorities, which could allow such evil to happen.
