  1. I don’t know whether Shapps is or isn’t “nice” and I suspect that Rothpol and RR are no better informed. What I do know is that many people in Rotherham once believed that Roger Stone and the rest of his cronies were “nice”. More recently, many people believed Sarah Champion to be too “nice” to fiddle her expenses.

Sorry mate, but I think you are overestimating your abilities, certainly in respect of Rothpol.
I suggest you read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect

I have never met Shapp, but a “member of my close family” knows him well and introduced me to his many names and his SEO (search engine optimization) companies a long long time ago, long before it first came to light in the press. I have followed the story since.

  2. Sorry to have hit a raw nerve with RR, but Dunning – Kruger Is an over used and discredited put- down. I suggest RR has a read of ://www.talyarkoni.org/blog/2010/07/07/what-the-dunning-kruger-effect-is-and-isnt/

My point is that cheap shots at opposition ideas and personalities are not worthy of a serious blog but , sadly, are typical of left wing “thinkers” with that immovable chip on the shoulder. Use real life experience, eyes and brain , and put the prejudice to one side. That shouldn’t be too difficult for anyone who is aware of what Labour has done for Rotherham.

    • I hadn’t noticed your post before today.
Whilst I had never heard of Tal Yarkoni before, I’ve read his CV now – and when he writes about Dunning-Kruger he is as far outside his research domain as I am.
When I said that a “member of my close family knows him well” I really mean that. Surely that is what you mean by “Use real life experience, eyes and brain “.
BTW I am not a member of the group you call ” left wing “thinkers” “. In fact in the last GE I voted Tory, and I have never voted for a Labour Councillor since the 1960’s. .
Perhaps you should take your own advice. I don’t need it.
