External investigators called in by Rotherham Council over alleged theft of key child abuse files

External investigators have been called in by Rotherham Council as part of a review into the alleged theft of key child abuse files in 2002, it has been revealed.

The Local Government Association has told MPs the investigators have been brought in as part of a professional malpractice investigation.

  1. Are these missing files, among those items that Jahangir Akhtar used to boast about removing, to protect the guilty from justice? How times change!

    • I doubt those files will ever be found now, but there is still a good chance of finding out who took them, and that is important.

      Remember what the Jay report said about it – The researcher arrived at her office on Monday morning and the caretaker said to her “It’s been a “busy” weekend”. What did he mean by that? There was no evidence of a break in, suggesting the files were removed by someone who had keys to the building. So who had keys?. Moreover, who had keys to the Risky Business office and also knew where the researcher kept her files? It will be a short list.
