Labour’s Collective Amnesia?

Some commenters have already alluded to the fact Labour appear in total denial of their collective role, in what has become known as, the Rotherham Child Sexual Exploitation scandal.

Quite typical of the attitude being pedalled  at the time was this posting on a blog called rothbradpolitics, the brainchild of Jahangir Akhtar.

Remember when we were told, CSE was a myth?

Since then we have had the Jay Report, the Casey Report and Pickles has sent Commissioners in to run the Council, because the party in continuous control of Rotherham, Labour, were found to be running a ‘not fit for purpose’ Council, that was failing in pretty much everything they were doing!

One would have thought then, these momentous events would have made it, to some of their election materials, together with an apology for Labour’s collective failure?

Not a bit of it! A review of election materials so far viewed, two out of three Labour Candidates for parliament have failed to mention CSE and twenty, out of twenty two Borough Council Candidates also fail to mention CSE or offer an apology!

Are Labour suffering some form of collective amnesia, and are deluded into thinking the voters may not notice their ommissions?

Or are we to conclude, Labour is trying to win votes, by means of a massive deception?

The voters are far mor sophisicated, than the Labour Party Candidates have given them credit for, that alone marks the current Candidates, as unsuitable for the Rotherham of the Twenty First Century!

Sarah Champion, is the only parliamentary Labour Candidate, to adequately respond to the circumstances, but may still suffer a voter backlash by association.

Both Kevin Barron and John Healey have failed in their duties towards Rotherham’s citizens and are , no doubt, being pushed hard by UKIP in both their seats.

The local government labour panel of candidate inspire little confidence, containing as it does, those pre-programmed Biraderist controlled candidates, the followers of the disgraced Naz Ahmed, Jahangir Akhtar, Mahroof Hussain, Shaukat Ali and Shabana Ahmed.

Labour’s poor due-diligence, leaves one with little confidence in any of Labour’s candidates for the Council in next months elections?

In short, Labour will pay a heavy price for their choices come May!

Ukip has no hope locally – according to the bookies:

UKIP are projected to get a 3 maximum of MPs nationally – my view is they will probably only get one and it won’t be Nigel, none of them will be in the North.

  2. Regular Reader is correct in that the theoretical likelihood of Labour winning the seats mentioned reflects an extrapolation of national polling data. What the pollsters and therefore those placing bets have no way of knowing is how many people whose preference is for one party will actually vote tactically in specific constituencies in order to bring about a different result. The big unknown is just how many will do so and if they will collectively conclude that the same challenger is the one most likely to take the seat.

  4. I went to a hustings debate for Rother Valley on Saturday night and the UKIP candidate came out of it very weak; he does not seem up for the fight; it would appear that UKIP are hoping that the national campaign will influence voters. The Tory is a Christian I know that from the amount of times he said it. The Lib Dem from Barnsley is more right wing than the Tory. You already know Sir Nutkin, I have to say through gritted teeth his experience did show through.

After the meeting we were stood in the hall I was wearing my Still the Enemy Within tshirt and this dick head of a Tory came to try to talk to me, I wont force Rik into having to doctor my comment; needless to say he took my advice and walked away. The whole thing was so low key myself and Mr Lewis nearly fell asleep.

  5. In my little exchange with Sir Nutkin on CSE he said I was “obsessed”, but he would not condemn RMBC Cllrs. Not surprising really when he has them working for him delivering his leaflets. Spot the plant. One of those asking a question on zero hours contracts, just happened to be from Anston and has been photographed delivering leaflets for him. so it now throws into doubt the other “labour left manifesto” questions that were asked.
I was going to ask if it was ethical to plant people in the audience to ask questions, but the vicar would not allow any questions at the end. Not very exciting I too was nodding off.

Tens of thousands of future victims depend on them not getting away with it.
