Labour’s 2015 success

Friends who were present at this year’s local election count report, the same exaggerated celebrations and pride at the size of their majorities, despite having lost the second General Election in a row, whistling in the wind’, perhaps?

The increased turnout and the distraction factor of the simultaneous General Election, has led to local election results that, as in 2010, are flattering the Labour local gorernment candidates and giving them the kind of majorities, not seen in Rotherham for a couple of decades.

  1. How did you Rotherham people vote this time considering the Labour councillors complicity/complatency in the CSE scandal ? Same as usual ?

    Rotherham – twinned with Khazi

  2. Roger the council are arrogant and those who put them back in obviously have their priorities wrong the commissioners have a job on this council will not work with any opposition even if it means better things for Rotherham

    • Rotherham is a true “Rotten Borough” . I think the solution is to change the name to Rottterham so that everyone knows what it really is. If the CSE scandal didn’t eradicate the rot, then there really is no hope. When the outsiders leave, those who are biding their time and consolidating their power will simply return to re-establish the previous status quo – but the next time they will be more careful and covert.

Rotherham wants to be a shithole – so why should anyone care if the people who live there don’t care ? You have a corrupt council and a truly appalling police force ( which will be wound down eventually because the Home Office is sick to the back teeth of having to deal with its incompetence)

  3. Wait until next year when there is no general election to help boost the turnout. With only a 30% turnout average then majorities will be reduced or more seats lost.

    • One doesn’t need to be psychic or prophetic to see where these (mostly) self serving hypocrites will take Rotherham in the future. Chris ( still cutting his baby teeth) Reid’s feeble attempts at being funny almost made me feel sorry…. (Almost) Perhaps they should view their own performance on the webcast and cringe at their obvious nauseating performance. It would make a Oscar winning comedy if it were not born out of such a tragic failure to protect the children and families of Rotherham.
I wouldn’t trust the majority of em to organize emptying the bins on time.

  4. I didn’t know about the RMBC webcast but I thoiught I would watch it.
I watched 5 minutes until that tall lanky idiot got up , whoever he is, and I just couldn’t take any more after 2 minutes of his mindless smirking bleetings.
The whole thing just looks riduculous – old men with chains and gongs and silly party hats and a ridiculous golden sceptre, looked upon by an audience of cerebrally vacant grinning idiots.

You have absolutely no hope with these sort of people running the show. Women of both sexes it seems to me, and all members of the MAS ( Mutual Appreciation Society ).

“It has been a rotten year for Rotherham , for reasons we are all familiar with ” ……… sssssshhhhhhhhh don’t mention the child sex, corruption and socialist political dogma that allowed it to carry on ….

Where were the campaigners shouting from the public gallery ? Nowhere.
What a disgraceful town. Run by mindless idiots.

    • Roger, I wish you had watched the whole show… I did, and for much needed therapy , since I don’t drink whisky, I went on a shopping spree to take my mind off the farce. Even that didn’t work… Just came home thinking over the Hans Christian Andersons story of the Emperors new Clothes. It took the innocence of a child to see what the spineless cowardly adults refused to see. The Emperor was really ‘starkers’

  5. To be fair, I do note a few (much maligned) brave souls in the RMBC. You don’t go unnoticed and get a thumbs up from me for valiant effort…. As for the rest…. Hell would freeze over before they could lift the profile or restore trust and confidence back in the people and town of Rotherham. Never been a gambler but I would wage a bet 5 years from now things would only be worse for Rotherham with Chris (stick with me and we’ll be alright) Read and his smaller version cling-on deputy.
Can’t help meself… they get all the mocking they deserve for their grandiose self image and fake grins..

  6. Missing the simple point of: despite all what has gone on with Labour locally, in the majority of the local electorates eyes UKIP and the Tories are seen as something worse.
I voted TUSC in the general election, but there were a whole number of people, actually policy wise agreed more with us than Labour, voted Labour to keep UKIP out.
