A former mayor of Rotherham has been found not guilty of claims he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl more than 25 years ago.
Barry Dodson, 67, was alleged to have attacked the victim, now aged 41, at Boston Castle in 1987.

To MK007 and others. The judge has ordered the anonymity of the complainant be preserved.

The anonymity of Mr Dodson should have been preserved UNTIL he was proven guilty. He wasn’t guilty therefore no one should have known or exposed his identity. It is time for a change in the law.

This is an issue considered by parliament on a number of occasions. Lobbying your MP on this thorny subject might help? Until the law is changed, we are stuck with the law as it is.
