Rotherham abuse suspect reported to have fled to Pakistan arrested at Manchester Airport

A Rotherham child grooming suspect who had reportedly fled to Pakistan has been arrested at Manchester Airport.

Basharat Hussain, 38, was arrested by South Yorkshire Police officers at the airport today as part of Operation Clover, an investigation into allegations of historic child sexual exploitation offences in Rotherham.

Men arrested over Rotherham child sex abuse

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing 15 sexual offences, including allegations of rape and false imprisonment.

Basharat Hussain of no fixed abode, was arrested at Manchester Airport by South Yorkshire Police as part of an investigation into allegations of child sexual exploitation in Rotherham.

  1. utter lol’d at this – i thought either its another basharat or its the same bloke. assume he returned if he’d fled to pakistan and was, rightly, arrested on return but why they don’t take passports away i dont know

    • You can’t go around confiscating passports where there are no charges. He was arrested but at the point bailed insufficient evidence to charge. This is what the police have said publicly.
