Mushin Ahmed – Hate crime!

Family speak of heartbreak as detectives confirm they are treating attack on Rotherham pensioner as a hate crime

Detectives believe a pensioner could have been attacked in Rotherham because he was on his way to morning prayers dressed in traditional clothing.

Investigating officers are treating the assault on Mushin Ahmed as a hate crime and have re-issued an appeal for witnesses.

Family’s moving tribute to “hate” attack victim Mushin Ahmed, 81

POLICE investigating the death of an 81-year-old granddad who died almost two weeks after being attacked in the street said it was being treated as a hate crime — as his family issued a moving tribute to the East Dene father of four.

Yemen-born Mushin Ahmed (pictured) was wearing traditional dress and was walking to morning prayers at Shakespeare Road mosque when he was assaulted on August 10.

  1. I don’t know if you are taking comments on this or if you have been overwhelmed. Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends and all of those affected. Mushin Ahmed. Requiescat in pace.

  2. Rest in peace Mr Ahmed. He looked like a lovely man who was snatched away from his family by some terrible thugs. Shame these same thugs cannot pick on someone they own size, must be really tough guys to beat up an old defenceless man. Hopefully they will get some punishment comming their way when they end up in prison. Stick them in the ethnic section of the prison and lets see how racist they are then? Evil little men.

    • I really don’t think this is the right place to express that sentiment. There is a time to put politics aside and unite in grief and respect to the feelings of the family.
