South Yorkshire Police Boycotted by the Muslim Community of Rotherham

South Yorkshire Police Boycotted by the Muslim Community of Rotherham

Since 26th August 2014, the date the Jay Report was published, the Muslim community has been under perpetual attack and demonisation. Over the last fourteen months, the Muslim community has time and again condemned the wholesale Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) that was brought to light. Whether in the form of a community conference; or a rally held outside of Town Hall – we have called for the perpetrators to be prosecuted.

However despite this we, the entire Muslim community, have been tarred with the same brush. There is a perception in the minds of many ordinary people that all Muslims are now potential child abusers, or that they have been involved in some sort of a cover up. This is further perpetuated by fourteen far-right demonstrations in our town that have zapped poison into our local community. In turn our women have been threatened with rape, children attacked, Mosques vandalised, men physically assaulted whilst out earning their livelihood and an elderly man being murdered. The marginalisation and dehumanisation of the Muslim community has been in full swing.

  1. So Mr Hussain is now not only the self proclaimed leader of the Muslim Youth but spokesperson for the whole Muslim community in Rotherham? It’s a strange approach to Community spirit or is it because police are making headway with CSE investigations and some people want to warn off their community from engaging with the police?

    • I am Muslim female and I will not join these idiots, Hussain is not a voice of all Muslims, It’s just his clan, we live in a democracy and have a choice and his bully boys tactics are not going to work on all members of community.

      • Well instead of constantly being the silent majority, why don’t you and other likewise thinking Muslims, step in to the plate and challenage these minorities, which are doing so much damage to you community. Yes I know it would be hard, but change must come from within, no imposed from the outside.

  2. I think there’s a massive amount of frustration at the murder of Mushin Ahmed, other attacks on Pakistani taxi drivers who seem to be attacked for the actions of groomers and the community feels scared. it doesnt help with when there are far right marches in town centre and besides UAF, don’t see too many local councillors/MPs supporting in marches against the far right and the recent arrests of what seem to be mainly asian people after the incident in wellgate makes the community feel a sense of targeting.

    • Nothing can possibly justify a riot, during the course of which bricks and bottle were thrown at the police. Those who rioted were Muhbeen’s Maniacs in British Muslin Youth, an exclusively South Asian group.

      • you should also not forget the individuals in the pub who were instigated that riot and ive spoken to someone who was there early on and who witnessed bottles being thrown at them from people near the pub. but we’re digressing here! not fully sure those people who rioting were universally muhbeen’s maniacs – think they were just people from the wellgate area who had gone to support the rally but obviously were friends/allies of muhbeen in a personal nature. who naturally reacted when they felt some asians had been bottled. but digressing – to return to the original point, i think it’s a shock tactic to get SYP more alert on anti muslim crime and attacks but would be disappointed if they did this boycott without having consistently tried to engage SYP to discuss this matter privately or publicly. on the boycott vote, seems it was just a throw of hands! where’s the democracy in that? have a proper vote on a big decision like this!

    • It was the Muslims who started the riot on wellgate and don’t forget they attacked same public house a month before with machetes. Shouldn’t they be arrested just because there Muslims?

  3. Rank hypocrisy from this rag tag bunch, disengagement with South Yorkshire Police however if there is an emergency and you need them phone 999, you couldn’t make it up.

A spectacular own goal from the Muslim Youth, in one fell swoop you have reinforced the views held by may across the town that you are not serious in standing shoulder to shoulder with your Rotherham brothers and sisters when it comes to CSE.

And as for the threat against your own community that they will be boycotted, be careful what you wish for as the wider Rotherham community may well take up that very same stance.

Deleted makes a good point, is this part of a plan to gag the Pakistani community in speaking to the police?

Grow up, name and shame the criminals and provide the police with information they need to jail these criminals.

  4. What a laugh …… how do you boycott the police ? …… seems more like they are saying they will not co-operate with police . The very actions of these people puts them in a bad light .. why are they not saying that the police will get full support …they are segregating themselves and further distancing themselves from others …. pulling the race card yet again …. things can’t , won’t , and will never change in this dead end town while ever people like this are allowed to call the shots . it seems to me their true colours where shown on that afternoon on Wellgate and now they don’t like it because the police are chasing them up …..

  5. Calling the shots is spot on if the coverage in the YP is correct the local Police Supt is making urgent attempts to meet with the group.
Fingers crossed it is with the intention to ask them face to face who are those involved in the riots.

  6. I’m trying to figure out who are the real victims here, the 1400+ girls that were raped, abused and pass around like recyclable carry bags, so groups of men from a particular race, could dishonour them for their own personal enjoyment, despite the fact they knew it was wrong. The families of these girls, who suffer in silence, because the people who could’ve help, didn’t. Or a communtiy who is in perpetual denial, about a sickness, which they could confront and eradicate, if they so chose, but won’t.

  7. These are the same people who got an Imam out of the country selling his house for him, covering up his paedophile activities. This will be seen, rightly or wrongly, that this community is intent on hiding the cse perpetrators, they have not been seen as cooperating with the police to hand the culprits over. This statement is hypocrisy of the worst kind.

  8. This meeting and these at the meeting do not represent the Asian community. The leaders of this meeting have their own agendas ie how many times the can appear on sky new or itv news. They are using this cse travesty to further there own political careers and they are using the Asian community as there pawns. Boycotting the police achieves nothing. These so called leaders of these parties are using basic tactics of divide and conquer. Causing a rift amongst Rotherham citizen. They did the same with the trouble in welgate. Divided the community by instigating the riots and then conquered by running to the police acting as saviours of the community to identify the culprits of the roits.

  9. If this rabble and their so call leaders truly want to end this nightmare and build a better community, then they should deliver up to justice all the perverts, who cause all this hate in the first place. Then the rest, the vast majority of the law abiding people’s of Rotherham, will call them as one of there own.

  10. and all the time the focus is on the 2 women who have conspired to make a girl a prostitute and 5 asains charged with rape etc no further arrests and no questions answered regarding the Asain councillors involved seems to me the same 7 people are being kept in the news mainly thanks to our local rag the Advertiser 2 years hundreds of police thousands of pounds and just 7 people in court it stinks I think others have been questioned higher up the food chain and this tactic is to delay proceedings . The police will not want to be racist I bet there are NO more arrests for a time

  11. I think it should be SYP cutting off communications with this filth as they are the perpetrators of these crimes, including rioting in our Town. Does this Mubeen individual really think we are as thick as he is and believe what he says?
Come on SYP cut off communications and the next time this pile of scum scream for help because they are being “persecuted” – NOT, don’t turn up and allow natural justice to take it’s course. They’d soon change their minds then if a few of them got their just deserts.

  12. I am not a legal expert, someone more informed may well have an opinion, are the actions of British Muslim Youth (BMY) tantamount to the intimidation of witness and attempting to pervert the course of justice?

The National Crime Agency (NCA) are conducting what is probably the largest investigation into organized child abuse in the UK and here in Rotherham representatives of the community where the perpetrators originate from call for disengagement with the police and a boycott of anyone co-operating with the police.

It is worrying to note that BMY have adopted what looks like the same bullying tactics used by the child abuse criminals to silence any communication between the abuse victims, their families and the police by the use of intimidation, I wonder where BMY learnt that little trick.

As I stated I am no legal expert, however I do hope the BMY ring leaders are taken in for questioning, I do not think that will happen if the interview given this morning on BBC Look North by the Rotherham MP, Ms Sarah Champion is anything to go by, she lays the blame at cuts to the service and lack of action in working with the community, no mention of the 19 suspects wanted in relation to the riots, no reference to the irresponsible action of BMY, to me it looks as if Labour are avoiding upsetting a core area of their vote.

I am in hope that the NCA net is closing in, not only on the small time criminals but those at the top of the abuse tree and the actions of BMY are evidence of just how close the NCA are to making significant progress in arresting all those concerned.

Let’s not pander to the ragged race card ,whatever the colour or background of the criminals and those trying to protect them, arrest them all without fear or favor, go for it NCA!

As for Ms Champion, you need to wake up and smell the coffee, you are being used.

  13. Hussain has just been on Victoria Derbyshire programme, the way he is talking you would think that his community was under attack constantly. He is attempting to make out that he and the rest of the community co-operated with the police about CSE, he would have us believe that they are all totally innocent of any wrong doing. No mention of the cover up that went on and is still going on; he must think we are all stupid; he also would have us believe he represents over a thousand people. Instead of being an apologist for the criminals he should admit the failings of his community to address CSE and their failure to hand over the perpetrators. He should also address the problem within his own society on the treatment of young Muslim women by Muslim men.

  14. I have just read the hysterical, non denial as usual, contemptible statement from the BMY. From the picture seems the membership, is also entirely made up of the deadbeat, heads the sands, old farts, who knew nothing, saw nothing, did nothing. So the claim to represent the youth of Rotherham , is a delusion claim, made by an irrelevant organisation.

It would come as no surprise, that following the publication of the Jay and Casey reports, of the horrendous abuse, perptrated exclusively, by the good members of the Pakistani community, that tensions have risen. Do these people lived in a parallel universe and truly not realise what they have done and that they would be consequences for this unacceptable behaviour.

The insincere apology for their crimes is somehow link with a perverse sense of outrage, that it wasn’t us gov, but society in general which has contributed to deliberate targeting of children in the Streets, Schools, Shopping malls, parks, taxis, even there homes, by a particularly race of another, is an cosquence of unislamstic virtues. Namely if your not a Muslim, your children are open to abuse.

Where is the realisation that they have committed these crimes and that they is something unhealthy and immoral for groups of adults males to abuse a single child. Where in the statement that we will tackle these problems, whether they be cultural or religious. Where in this statement that they will do whatever it takes to gather any information about these offenders, and present it to the Police.

Instead of building new and more respectful relationships with the other communities, we get this lists of so call grievenances. Have they not learn anything over the past 14 months that constant denial will no longer do. Time for them to address their problems and then make it up with the rest of the community of Rotherham. We are the victims, not the criminals here.

They need to give it rest getting government funding then slating government morons!!! I think there have secret agenda as most of the leaders and group members are covering the family members as they are most likely involved in the In the ongoing cse

  15. The Far right groups who march in Rotherham do not represent the white British and Christian communities. There have been many attempts behind the scenes by various legitimate reps of these groups to stop these marches, cooperating with the police and authorities. LIKEWISE you have to question the representative-ness of a group that claims to speak for Muslims then advocates non cooperation with the police and tries, apparently, to intimidate others who might cooperate. Imho, BMY are fuelling the fires in the same way that EDL etc are by rejecting the public and open processes and instruments of the law. Surely the way forward is full cooperation with the police who appear to be making progress in catching the real criminals ? Can’t BMY see that it is totally in the interests of the muslim community, and the wider community to get these people locked up? The Police cannot do this without full and frank communication with every part of the Rotherham community. The question then remains, who does actually represent the community of Rotherham? In a diverse society where, to ensure that those who shout loudest don’t always get their way (BMY, EDL are you listening?), we have secret ballots to elect democratic reps called councillors and MPs. In a society when any Tom, Dick or Ali can set up a group or run a paper, these democratic reps are the only ones who can truly claim legitimacy to represent us. Actually all other “representation” is so much unsubstantiated hot air otherwise democracy is dead and we are on the path to war lord-ism. I would love, for example, exact details on who are the other Muslim groups that supposedly supported the BMY boycott and how this other support was expressed, according to the BMY press release. It’s all a bit vague. So Councillors and MPs need to make sure they speak out impartially, without fear and favour for everyone. The problem is they have not done so in the past. Are they doing so now?

    • What if all of these false concerns, were design for another purpose. Did the Pakistani thugs, at that last EDL March, need to turn up. Couldn’t they have just ignore them. They were only here for a couple of hours. What if you cause such an environment, whereby you poison the atmosphere, would a certain group receive a fair trail?
