High Sheriff to visit support centres helping child abuse victims in Rotherham

South Yorkshire’s High Sheriff, John Holt, is to visit two of Rotherham’s support centres helping victims of child sexual exploitation.

He will meet some of the partners involved in the support centres at Swinton Lock and the Clifton Learning Partnership, which were set up by the voluntary and community sector following the revelation last year that 1,400 children in Rotherham had been groomed by men of largely Pakistani heritage over 16 years while authorities, including South Yorkshire Police and Rotherham Council, turned a blind eye.

  1. I am trying to figure out what good would this clown in his robe would do in protecting children from Child Abuse. I see one of the organisation involve is REMA, its chief Executive is Azizzum Akhtar, couldn’t possiable be related to the now infamous Jahangir Akhtar?

      • if it is his son and thinking of the sensitivities of the particular subject and J Akhtar role in this matter, or non role. And that if J Akhtar is related to a particular individuals, whose names we will not mention, wouldn’t it be inappropriate for him to be leading REMA. Surely Rotherham council could’ve seen that his presence would be off putting to any potential abuse victim.
