THE MUM of an alleged grooming victim has told a judge how abuse suspect Basharat Hussain tore her family apart, making her feel like “a failure”.
In a statement read out at Sheffield Crown Court today, the woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said: “I feel like a failure who could have protected [my daughter]”.

The 30-year-old woman — who said Hussain left her fearing for her life on one occasion after threatening to shoot her — says she was driven to an airport and expected to board a flight, but could not go through with it.

ALLEGED sex abuser Basharat Hussain was also big-time drug dealer with a corrupt CID officer on his payroll, a woman has claimed in court.
The 30-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told police she met an officer several times at a flat where Hussain kept drugs and drug money – up to £100,000 at times.

A COURT has heard how alleged sex abuser Basharat Hussain drove his victim to a Peak District beauty spot and told her she would “dig her own grave”.
The 16-year-old girl from Rotherham, now a 30-year-old woman, described her violent teenage relationship with Hussain, who she claims took her to Castleton in Derbyshire and verbally and physically abused her for two hours, knocking her to the ground and spitting on her.

A MAN accused of 15 sex crimes began a relationship with a girl nearly ten years younger than him and never let her have any friends, a court heard.
Sheffield Crown Court was told the girl was 15 when she and Basharat Hussain began a consenting relationship.
