Rotherham abuse trial: Basharat Hussain ‘kidnapped witness and held him at teenage girl’s flat’
A defendant in the Rotherham child abuse trial kidnapped a witness against his brother and kept the man in a teenage girl’s flat.
Sheffield Crown Court heard Basharat Hussain was sent to prison for kidnap as a result of the incident involving one of the 12 complainants in the trial.
In a video interview played to the jury, the now 31-year-old woman said she had been around 18 when Hussain brought the kidnapped man to her property.
The woman had earlier told the court she had been in an abusive two-year relationship with Hussain and he had once smashed her head into a pub window, resulting in her being taken to hospital.
