Rotherham MP, Sarah Champion launches campaign to prevent child abuse

On Tuesday 19 January, Sarah Champion MP, Shadow Minister for Preventing Abuse and Domestic Violence, will be launching Dare2Care, a campaign aimed at preventing child abuse.

A website – the first of its kind – created with industry experts, will go live on the day of the campaign launch to provide a hub for people to share their experiences as well as offer resources to support young people, professionals and parents.

Sarah said:

“The horror and scale of child exploitation has shocked me to the core, and I have become increasingly frustrated that we only seem to act once the crime has been committed.  I believe it is time to lead the cultural fightback, starting with Dare2Care, to make sure that all children are properly supported and informed to prevent abuse happening.”

Dare2Care will be a national campaign, bringing survivors, parents, young people and professionals together at roundtables taking place throughout spring 2016 where stories, ideas and solutions will be shared and used to inform policy changes.

Since being elected as MP for Rotherham in 2012, Sarah has campaigned consistently against the sexual exploitation of children and plans to use Dare2Care to tackle the assumption that abuse is inevitable and to challenge relationship violence.

  1. I caught the end of a TV programme late the other night. It appeared to be about misogynists who are unable to resist trolling any woman who attempts to do anything positive. Sad people.

There was a screen-shot of a selection of posts, and there were several from a ‘Paul Wilson’. Was this you? It appears entirely consistent with your posts on this site.

Whatever, I’m sure we’re all interested to learn about the amazing achievements in your life which give you the confidence to denigrate others so readily. Please tell us all as soon as possible. We’re waiting.

    • Well which programme was it ? I am sorry i missed it.
Well I am hardly a misogynist – I dislike all charlatans and hypocrites equally, irrespective of gender, race or or sexual orientation.
I believe in equal opportunities. Any middle-class do-gooder, left wing champagne socialist, child abuser, political boot-licking ladder climber is equally welcome to put themselves up for “denigration” irrespective of gender .
I don’t rise to “bait ” – I have been in the world far too long to fall for such a childish ruse.
Unfortunately, there are many like you around who are too naive to identify the nature of the sort of individuals that I criticise , which is precisely why Rotherham Council was full of the types I refer to, which has resulted in ruined lives, police corruption and imported nepotism from the Third World.
As far as CSE is concerned, perhaps you might wish to reflect upon WHO brought sexual grooming to the public gaze many many many YEARS before Sarah Champion jumped on the bandwagon. The credits go to those working in Risky Business, CROP and also Anne Cryer.
The infrastructure for combatting CSE has been in place for years, but of course it isn’t a “Sarah Champion Production” is it ?

      • Marlene Quest and the BNP knew years before S Champion came on the scene what was happening in Rotherham with the Pakistani phedofiles but all the authorities did not believe them and tried to discredit them. Marlene Quest met S champion and told her what was happening, she refused to believe Marlene, the rest is history as it is unfolding.

      • If only all those know it all had listen, how many ruined lives could’ve be saved, how many preptrators would’ve been behind bars by now, how far ahead we would’ve been in tackerling this crime?

    • How do you know Sarah told Marlene. Everybody says he knew, she knew but nobody ever prices it with a copy letter, email, recording it statement of truth.

Seems all Rotherham is, in some way, both in denial and fear.

Stand up and be counted. Tell THE TRUTH.

  2. We have all seen pictures of Ms Champion with some of the now disgraced Cllrs, and If I remember rightly she has been in a Photograph with two of the defendants in the CSE Abuse case. Maybe its time she gave an explanation as to why she is seen to be around these persons. ( or am I risking a Court Case myself for suggesting such a thing).

    • What do you expect from a woman with judgement so flawed that she supported the election of idiot Corbyn to be Labour Party Leader ?
It’s about right – she isn’t the sharpest pencil in the box is she ?

She was one of the 35 labour MPs that ensured he was on the ballot, that is all.
20 MP’s actually voted for him, who they are is not known.
She is a far far sharper pencil than you are IMHO.

  3. Voting Labour after all the cse crisis is bad enough, but compounding and voting for Labour M.P’s who don’t live in the constituency takes the biscuit.

Much of her work is in Westminster, much of the rest of her time is in Rotherham.
Neither you nor I are in her constituency, I certainly would prefer her as our MP than the one we have now!

      • Yes she is taking a lot of stick for her naivety, but just remember her two partners in crime have been at it a lot longer and just stand back in the shadows hoping the sun will not rise to early

      • Regular reader “I certainly would prefer her as our MP than the one we have now” doesn’t make sense, is it a Freudian slip I don’t want anybody representing me that has been brain washed by the common purpose political correctness agenda. A M.P’s duty should be to represent their constituency before their party, but 95% of Labour M.P’s have signed up for Britain to stay in the EU, they say its leadership, I call it treason.

      • S15,
Our current MP is Kevin Barron, OK? I think Sarah Champion is a better MP, OK?

I for one want the UK to stay in the EU.
