Hillsborough: South Yorkshire and West Midlands Police face legal action
Families of football fans who died in the Hillsborough disaster are pursuing High Court misconduct action against the South Yorkshire and West Midlands police forces, lawyers have said.
The inquests jury found victims were unlawfully killed and there were police failings.
Hillsborough families to sue South Yorkshire Police for millions
South Yorkshire Police are to be sued for millions of pounds by hundreds of families of Liverpool fans involved in the Hillsborough tragedy.
Almost 400 people are to bring a £20m class action against South Yorkshire and West Midlands police forces.
Sky News has reported 386 people are suing the forces for damages, with those making claims including relatives of the 96 victims and survivors from the day.
The police forces are accused of a ‘systematic cover-up’.
