Rotherham is given a top award

ROTHERHAM youngsters have the best help and support in the country, after the borough scooped a top prize at a national awards ceremony.

The borough came joint top in the Children’s Services category at the LGC Local Government Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel last Monday.

The progress in recent years and future plans for integrated services were highlighted as reasons for the success.

  1. This award should be publicly rescinded immediately. I suppose it will be a tad embarrassing too those who were conned into awarding it at the time !


  2. Gives you an idea of the prestige of local government awards. They aren’t followed up with any actual checking – they are just words on an entry form.
