ROTHERHAM SCANDAL: Police criticised for ‘failure’ to crack down on child grooming gangs POLICE in Rotherham have been accused of a continuing “failure” to stop widespread child grooming in testimony gathered together by express.co.uk.

Victims, campaigners and neighbours have all relayed tales of police inaction and incompetence which underline the shocking scale of abuse still occurring in the town.

The statements were pieced together as part of an investigation by this website into the continued operation of grooming gangs in Rotherham two years after Professor Alexis Jay’s report on the scandal shocked the nation.

Girls who were subjected to horrific sexual abuse at the hands of grooming gangs have told how detectives are “half-hearted” about investigating their cases, often taking months just to offer them an interview.

In some cases crimes have not been recorded, whilst numerous sources have revealed they were told by officers the police could not act until abuse had been committed.
