A motorist accused of causing the death of a Sheffield police officer through careless driving will stand trial in February.
Waqas Khan, aged 23 and of Balfour Road, Darnall, pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving as he made his first appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday morning.
A Vauxhall Corsa driven by Khan was involved in a collision with PC Ali on January 28, 2015 on Staniforth Road, Darnall.
PC Ali died in hospital from his injuries on February 6.

A SHEFFIELD motorist has denied causing the death of a police officer through careless driving.
Waqas Khan, 23, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Hassan Ali by careless driving at Sheffield Crown Court today.
Khan, wearing a dark blue pin-striped suit jacket, white shirt and black loafer shoes, only spoke to confirm his name.
