Nigel Farage to be Donald Trump’s go-between amid claims Special Relationship with US is faltering
Ministers will use Nigel Farage as an intermediary to build bridges with Donald Trump following accusations that the “special relationship” is faltering in the wake of his election.
The Telegraph understands that ministers will be forced to seek Mr Farage’s advice because they have no links to the President-elect’s inner circle.
Mrs May spoke to Mr Trump for the first time since his victory – but not until after he had spoken to the leaders of at least nine other nations.
Downing Street said that during the call, Mr Trump said that the UK is a “very, very special place for me and for our country” and suggested that he wants their relationship to be similar to the one enjoyed by Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.
and Farage displays his diplomatic skills:
Nigel Farage calls US President Barack Obama a ‘loathsome individual’
UKIP leader Nigel Farage has described US President Barack Obama as a “loathsome individual” and a “creature” who “couldn’t stand our country”.
He told Talk Radio he “couldn’t be happier” about Donald Trump’s US election victory and that he would work to further trade relations.
Mr Farage said he would advise him: “Come and schmooze Theresa [May], but don’t touch her, for goodness’ sake.”
Mr Trump and Mr Farage campaigned alongside one another in August.
Aaarrr…that’s so cute, Tony Blair was Bushes poodle.
Nigel Farage…could be toupee’s little Yorkshire terrier…very very feisty terrier

Nigel Farage ‘not a UK go-between with Donald Trump’
Downing Street has strongly rejected claims that ministers will be forced to use Nigel Farage as a “go-between” with the new Trump administration in the US.

“Nigel normally gets his way”
Utter nonsense!
He stood for election to Westminster’s House of Commons 7 times starting in 1994 , and …
As for UK leaving the EU, I’ll believe it when I see it, and I haven’t seen it yet.
A while back there was a piece in the FT on his early career working for a company trading on the London Metal Exchange. He was hardly a star in that organisation. I’ll see if I can still find the article – I can remember showing it to Rothpol.

Farage had no involvement whatsoever in UK not joining the euro!
This explains the entire basis for UK not joining.
Blair was for joining, Brown was therefore against it and so …
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_economic_tests
The Euro was introduced on 1 January 1999
Farage first became an MEP in June 1999.
.
I worked in continental Europe, largely on aspects of the Ecu, ERM, and then EMU from 1992 to 2003 .
Although I stayed current with what was happening in UK and read both the FT and Guardian daily and the Telegraph on-line – I had never even heard of UKIP or Farage before I returned to UK in 2003.

Given that Farage’s father was a successful stockbroker, I’ve always wondered Nigel wasn’t introduced into the stockbroking business by his dad.

I don’t mean to be unkind, but you haven’t actually managed to ever argue any case for anything, as far as I can see.
Again I ask what is your basis for saying that the EU creates “shackles” for countries and that it is a “corrupt” organisation.
I have never worked fro the Commission or for EuroStat but I have worked with them both often, and a lot of times I have found, particularly the Commission, a very frustrating organisation to deal with, overly Francophone, very inward looking, and often inept, but definitely not corrupt.
