A LABOUR councillor in Rotherham has been found guilty of grabbing a female senior council official’s bottom and squeezing it with both hands.
Andrew Roddison, 41, grabbed the woman while he was giving her a hug at a high profile council event in May, this year, a court heard.

A Labour councillor in Rotherham been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a council event.
Andrew Roddison, 41, of Flatts Lane in Treeton, had pleaded not guilty to the charges at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.
He has been bailed and is to be sentenced at the same court on 1 December.
The assault happened at an event that followed a parade in Rotherham in May, said West Yorkshire Police.
Today (Tuesday 22 November), Andrew Roddison has been found guilty of sexual assault.
Roddison, 41, of Flatts Lane, Treeton, Rotherham, has been found guilty of sexual assault at Leeds Magistrates Court this afternoon, following a report that he sexually assaulted a woman at an event back in May this year.
Roddison pleaded not guilty to the charges at the trial this afternoon but was found guilty by the judge. He has been bailed and will be sentenced at Leeds Magistrates Court on 1 December.
The sexual assault happened at a council event after a parade in Rotherham.
Sergeant Sharon Hulley, the leading officer on the investigation, said: “An investigation into Roddison was launched after the victim reported the abuse that had happened at a public event.
“He is now being punished for his actions and I hope the victim feels justice has been achieved today.

Giving evidence yesterday at Leeds magistrates court, the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said he grabbed her left buttock then both buttocks, squeezing them and lifting her to her tiptoes.
Speaking from behind a screen, she sobbed as she said she was shocked and embarrassed in front of about 100 people at the town hall in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
