Councillor handed restraining order and curfew for groping colleague

CONVICTED Andrew Roddison has quit as a councillor, it emerged today, as he was sentenced for squeezing another elected member’s bottom.

The ex-Brinsworth and Catcliffe ward member (41) was given a community order with a night-time curfew by a judge at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.

      This is the extract from Roddison’s ‘Declaration of Interest’ he made as councillor and found on the RMBC website:

      ‘I am a governor at Brinsworth Whitehill School
      I am a Parish Councillor of Catcliffe Parish Council
      I am a member of the Labour Party
      I am a trustee of the Cash for Kids Charity that is run by Hallam FM
      I am on the district executive of the Rotherham Scout Council’.

    Very interesting it has some historical importance, maybe no rules were broken!

    Maybe what isn’t broken really needs fixing to provide communities with greater protection, from elected so and so’s.
