Rotherham child ‘used for sex’

A 12-year-old girl had sex with at least six men in Rotherham and was raped by two brothers, a court was told.

She was plied with cannabis and alcohol before she was allegedly abused.

Five Asian men have gone on trial facing 23 charges of sexually abusing two girls aged 12 and 13 over a two-year period from December 1999.

Sophie Drake, for the prosecution, told Sheffield crown court that Basharat Dad, 32, and his brother Nassar Dad, 36, both raped the 12-year-old. Basharat also allegedly raped the 13-year-old, as did a third brother, Tayab Dad, 34, it is claimed. Miss Drake said the victims did not know each other.

“As young teenagers in Rotherham they were sexually exploited by a number of men, they were vulnerable and given alcohol and cannabis and told to perform sexual acts,” she said.

Matloob Hussain, a takeaway delivery driver who was 25 had sex with the 12-year-old as did Mohammed Sadiq, who was then 24, it is alleged.

The five men deny the accusations. The trial continues.
