Sheffield man accused of child prostitution offences cries himself to sleep over false allegations, court told

A Sheffield man accused of prostituting young girls for his own gain, cries himself to sleep at night over the allegations, a court heard.

It is alleged that Shane Whiteley of Weakland Crescent, Hackenthorpe forced Girl A to prostitute herself, both from his flat in Victoria Court, West Street and in the red light district of the city, and that he ‘had her raped’ when she refused to sell herself in 2009.

Whiteley told Sheffield Crown Court that he had only come into contact with Girl A, who was aged between 15 and 16-years-old at the time of the allegations, to sell her ‘a bit of draw’.
