Did a more senior officer stop her investigating this case?
If so why is she being being charged with misconduct?
Surely all crimes reported are logged, so who did stop the investigation?
Would a discussion be held as to what needs investigating?
Is the report then kept on file/computer backup or destroyed? Does anyone know? Even then this detective should have insisted on an investigation. If she had, would her job have been at risk?

“Gross Misconduct” in the real world is another word for “bye bye, your fired”. Obviously the Police have different standards to the rest of us mortals.
