Police watchdog to reconsider case against former Police and Crime Commissioner

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is to reconsider whether there is a criminal case against South Yorkshire’s former police and crime commissioner.

It comes after the IPCC admitted that it misunderstood the law in relation to lying to Parliament.

The IPCC says it should have examined a case against Shaun Wright amid allegations of lying to the Home Affairs Select Committee over the Rotherham child exploitation scandal.

The IPCC had earlier concluded it could not amount to a criminal offence and was not under its remit.

  2. The IPCC is an exemplar of a range of quangos and NGO’s whose functions, we supposed to be believe, is to monitor alleged misconduct of public servants and action as appropriate. . In fact most ot these organisations are simply shock-absorbers, intended to give the impression of holding those who we pay to serve us to account, whereas they are in reality a PR front.
How many corrupt police officers from SYP are in prison ? None.
