Thorntons becomes the latest high street name to leave Rotherham town centre

THORNTONS this week joined the growing list of big high street names moving out of Rotherham town centre.

The chocolates chain will close its All Saints’ Square branch on Saturday.

The news comes a week after Holland and Barrett announced it was leaving Rotherham Interchange next month for a larger unit at Parkgate Shopping and three weeks after Poundstretcher shut its Bridgegate branch.

    Parkgate retail world is soon going to need a bigger car park …. Here is a suggestion for RMBC.. flatten the town centre and make more car parks and run a park and ride service to Meadowhall and Parkgate.
