Jury retires to consider verdict in schoolgirl rape trial

THE jury in the trial of a man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at a beauty spot has retired to consider its verdicts on five charges.

Paul Jones (48) denies carrying out the alleged knifepoint attack at Canklow Woods, insisting he had no idea how vital DNA evidence — said to have a one-in-a-billion chance of being inaccurate — had ended up on the teenager.

Man (48) guilty of raping teenager in Canklow Woods

A MAN has been jailed for 20 years for raping a 15-year-old girl at a beauty spot.

It took jurors just one hour to find Paul Jones guilty of carrying out the knifepoint attack at Canklow Woods on November 14 last year.
