Rotherham sex abuse survivor criticises payment to paedophile informant

A woman abused by a sex gang leader in Rotherham has criticised a decision to pay a child rapist £10,000 to infiltrate a paedophile ring.

Sammy Woodward, now in her 30s but who was 14 when she was abused, spoke out after a convicted sex offender, who drugged an underage girl and invited another man to rape her after him, was paid thousands of pounds to help detectives secure prosecutions against a sex gang in Newcastle.

The informant was recruited by Northumbria Police to work on an undercover operation, one strand of which, known as Operation Shelter, has just finished going through the courts and led to the conviction of 18 members of an Asian grooming gang which targeted underage girls and vulnerable young women in Newcastle between 2010 and 2014.

Look at this way, The Police would’ve to risk one of their own and the chance he might be discovered and harmed. The time it would’ve took to infiltrate these scum. Unfortunately, they used a pervert, but caught 18 others, whom had abused 400+ girls. Perhaps you should be asking South Yorkshire Police, why they did do this from 1997. 1400+ girls, might’ve been saved.

      Nonsense.
It is totally unacceptable to pay a convicted sex criminal any sum of money out of the taxpayer’s pocket, apart from the moral aspect in itself.

if the Northumbria police cannot mount covert operations utilising modern technology, or use its own undercover ethnic-origin officers, then this police force is incompetent and backward.

Then again, this is nothing new – the calibre of officers in most police forces across Britain is worryingly poor. We have the CC of Northumbria Police stating that he would “do the same again” which indicates his complete lack of reflection regarding operational tactics.
It is beyond belief that this high-ranking policeman simply does not realise that he was walking a legal tightrope , and that by using a convicted sex offender the whole case may have been thrown out of court. Fortunately, the muslim paedophiles didn’t have a good QC , so they got convicted.
I wonder how many of them will be deported after serving their sentences ?

Who Dares Wins and the police won this battle, big time.

  4. john says:

What was totally unacceptable is that the informant appears to have told the police when and where these parties were taking place and the police did not stop them.Using children as bait to get convictions cannot be justified
