  1. Where does cllr Atkin live ? how many mosques around his neck of the woods ? fully understand the feelings of the people living around this extension . it will be a nightmare . a car park for 7 cars what ?

  2. Will the additional room allow the Iman to segregate men and women?

Is Saudi money funding the building works?

Will other faith based groups be allowed to use the building?

Open until 23.00 everyday, seems a bit late for a residential area.

Traffic congestion is already an issue.

  3. If the “congregation” were not “Certain people of a particular ethnicity and religious persuasion”( to use PC Council Double Speak – see officer quotes in Jay and Casey reports) or Pakistani Muslims to put it bluntly, I very much doubt that this application would have been granted. The genuine objections concerning road safety and parking problems appear to have been ignored even though they are glaringly obvious to anyone with half a brain who cares to drive along Broom Lane at the time of “Friday Prayers” !! Decisions such as this will do no favours to the cherished ideas of, so called, community cohesion as beloved by the inhabitants of Town Hall Towers.

    • I agree with you there,I watched this episode and could not believe that the Liebour planning dept and councillors stuck two fingers up to local residents and said the Pakistanis can have what they want and that they can park their cars wherever they want and at any time to visit this non paying council tax mosque, when is enough a enough.

  4. Cllr Walsh advancing the argument that people will simply park further away… does he not realise that will inconvenience even more people!!
And Atkin on the argument that because he lives near a school (presumably busy twice a day) he voted to make the residents suffer five times a day. A weird illusion of fairness.
Glad to see UKIP speaking up for the residents… as well as Cllr Taylor.
