Boundary Commission – Rotherham proposals

The Local Government Boundary Commission is carrying out an electoral review of Rotherham Borough Council.

The aim of the electoral review is to recommend ward boundaries that mean each councillor represents approximately the same number of voters. We also aim to ensure that the pattern of wards reflects the interests and identities of local communities as well as promoting effective local government. In order to achieve these aims, we need to re-draw ward boundaries across Rotherham.

  1. It will be intresting to see which cllrs roll their sleeves up, are persuasive and good at negotiating tactics. And the many who sit on their hands, meekly accept things and carry on taking their money?

  2. No wonder the Beck for Leader power base have intensified their whispering campaign against the current Leader.

With the Wales ward reducing to two Cllr`s, being seen as the natural successor to Read will place Beck in a commanding position to retain a place in Wales.

Interesting to note the time period when the campaign to usurp Read got off the ground coincided with the release of the proposed new boundary changes, cunning move that!

The Labour motion on Fracking proposed by Beck with Wilson seconding the motion clearly puts down a marker who will be the two Wales Cllrs following the boundary changes

Katherine Wilson represents (allegedly) Anston and Woodsetts ward not the Boy Blunder’s ward in Wales..
