Abuse victim Sammy Woodhouse: We need to give Asian women a voice
Sammy Woodhouse, an exploitation victim turned campaigner, writes for Sky News after report says 84% of grooming gangs are Asian.
I was not shocked when I saw the results of the Quilliam report into gang grooming, that found 84% of perpetrators are from Asian backgrounds.
Their findings mirror my own experiences and in my opinion, white males work more as individuals, whereas Pakistani groups work together.
It is about loyalty. It is their community, it is organised.
They don’t just use girls for themselves, it is to traffic them.
Girls and women are viewed as beneath men, they are there to cook, clean and provide children.
Grooming gang study reveals 84% are Asian
Bigots and the politically correct are stifling debate on child grooming gangs, according to a study that found the majority of offenders are Asian.
Quilliam, a think tank, researched 58 gangs and found that 84 per cent of their members were Asian, and 70 per cent of those are of Pakistani heritage. In contrast, the study found that all “type 2” offenders, who target children primarily because of a specific sexual interest, rather than vulnerability, were white.
The research analysed 58 convictions of grooming gangs since 2005. Of the 264 offenders, 222 were Asian, 22 black, 18 white and two were of unknown ethnicity. Haras Rafiq, chief executive of Quilliam, said: “I thought the problem was being overstated but it isn’t — this is what we found. Facts are facts.”
Quilliam’s report claimed that the “regressive left” denied that a problem existed “and threatens to label those who oppose this blinkered vision as ‘racist’ or ‘Islamophobic’ ”.
Grooming gang convictions ‘84% Asian’, say researchers
A think-tank report finds there is a demographic link to those who sexually exploit children in grooming gangs.
British-Pakistani researchers have found that 84% of all people convicted since 2005 for the specific crime of gang grooming were Asian.
The Quilliam Foundation found that the demographic background of those who exploit youngsters in a paedophile ring was different to those who act in grooming gangs.
According to the most recent figures, released in 2012 by the National Crime Agency’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP), 100% of child sex offenders in paedophile rings were white.
