No verdict yet in trial of man accused of raping teenage girl

A JURY trying a former taxi driver accused of raping a school girl 15 years ago has gone home for the night without reaching a verdict.

Jurors had considered the case of Asghar Bostan (47) for just one hour when Judge Graham Reeds QC sent them home at 4.15pm.

They will resume their deliberations at Sheffield Crown Court tomorrow morning.

Bostan (pictured), of East Bawtry Road in Whiston, faces two counts of rape at a town centre flat in 2002 or 2003.

His accuser, who cannot be named for legal reasons, picked him out of a line-up in 2014.
