MAYOR and abuse survivor Eve Rose Keenan told of her pride at becoming a patron of Rotherham Abuse Counselling Service.
Cllr Keenan revealed last May that she had been a victim and was invited by the charity, known as Rothacs, to speak at a celebration event in October.
Now the mayor has agreed to become Rothacs’ second patron, joining MP Sarah Champion.
“It’s an incredible honour and one I will take very seriously and work hard,” said Cllr Keenan, whose abuse ordeal happened 25 years ago, before she came to Rotherham.
“For many years, I had counselling following my abuse and I would like very much to promote counselling and promote Rothacs.”
