Ukip has suspended three party members after a group of protesters raided Britain’s biggest socialist bookshop on Saturday.
Police were called to the Bookmarks store in Bloomsbury, central London after up to a dozen people entered the shop chanting, threatening staff and tearing down displays.
In a statement, Ukip said Tony McIntyre, the party chairman, had suspended three members – Elizabeth Jones, Luke Nash-Jones and Martin Costello – pending an investigation.

Party chair Tony McIntyre released a statement announcing Elizabeth Jones, a member of the party’s National Executive Committee, as well as Luke Nash-Jones and Martin Costello had been suspended from the party after they “were involved in an incident at the Bookmarks bookshop in London on Saturday.”
