Sheffield City Region: ‘Lots achieved in first 100 days despite no devolution deal’ says mayor Dan Jarvis

South Yorkshire metro mayor Dan Jarvis has said a lot has been achieved in his first 100 days in office despite no breakthrough on devolution.
Mr Jarvis points out progress being made to transform South Yorkshire from a post-industrial region to a thriving centre for manufacturing, engineering and health technology.

‘No deal on devolution is my biggest frustration’ – South Yorkshire mayor Dan Jarvis latest on deadlock on devolved deal

Sheffield City Region Mayor Dan Jarvis has said Government not engaging with devolution has been his ‘biggest frustration’ since he passed 100 days in office. The mayor said he is working on a three-pronged devolution strategy to get the 2015 South Yorkshire deal signed, push for greater mayoral powers and pursue a wider county deal with the rest of Yorkshire, all by 2020.

  1. Here is the question for Mr Jarvis: Please state the total of funds the Sheffield City Region has received so far, and demonstrate, with supporting evidence, the added value to the lives of citizens in the Sheffield City Region.
    Of course, this question structure can be applied to any public organisation, and, as such, the Freedom Of Information Act applies.
