EXTRA cash announced by the Government to patch up roads in the borough falls well short of what is needed, a councillor has said.
The Department for Transport announced on Monday that Rotherham will receive an extra £1.65m in funding this winter to fix potholes and repair roads.
But Cllr Emma Hoddinott, Rotherham Council’s cabinet member for waste, roads and community safety, said the money was not enough.

No, it won’t be enough, whilst ever RMBC is wasting money on over valued and over paid senior staff.

Pot holes are the responsibility of the council not government So what have they spending the money on? Another cover up from a councillor who was “thrown out” for being Not fit for purpose is blaming some one else?

The state of Rotherham’s roads is an utter disgrace. This shower of jumped – up , self – serving half wits couldn’t organise a booze up in a brewery. Not only have they allowed B roads and side roads to fall into disrepair, our A roads and inner town roads are as bad.
How on earth can you pay inflated salaries to so called “regeneration” shiny arses , when prospective investors in the town see the state of the roads, the litter and the unkempt verges?? RMBC simply have no idea.
