Six men jailed for 101 years for sexually abusing girls as young as 13 in Rotherham
Six men have been jailed for 101 years after being convicted of raping and sexually assaulting young girls in Rotherham between 1998 and 2005.
Mohammed Imran Ali Akhtar, Nabeel Kurshid, Iqlaq Yousaf and Tanweer Ali, all friends from Rotherham, were found guilty last month, alongside Salah Ahmed El-Hakam, Asif Ali and ‘X’, a man who cannot be named for legal reasons, following an eight week trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
The offences relate to the abuse of five girls, one as young as 13, who were passed around to be sexually abused by multiple offenders.

SIX men who sexually abused five teenage girls have been jailed for a combined total of 101 years.
They were convicted of 22 child sexual exploitation offences against five girls following an eight-week trial at the court which ended last month.
Girl sexually abused by six men suffered “catalogue of trauma”
A WOMAN who was abused by six men – who were sentenced to a total of 101 years in prison today – suffered a “catalogue of trauma” as a child.
The woman, who is now in her 30s, was raped and sexually abused by gang ringleader Mohammed Imran Akhtar, along with his associates Nabeel Kurshid, Asif Ali, Iqlak Yousaf, Salah El-Hakam and Tanweer Ali.
During today’s sentencing, Ms Michele Colborne, prosecuting, said: “Your Honour saw a psychologist’s assessment describing the catalogue of trauma she endured as a child and the impact on her of abuse at a very young age.”

Rotherham gang preyed on girls who ‘wanted love’
A gang of six men have been jailed for grooming and sexually abusing five girls under 16 in Rotherham.
One of the victims told a trial at Sheffield crown court how she had had sex with at least 100 Asian men by the time she was 16 and another described how she was gang-raped in a forest.
The men had subjected the vulnerable girls as young as 13 to sexual acts “of a degrading and violent nature” between 1998 and 2005. They targeted children who were “easy to exploit because they wanted to be loved”, abusing them in secluded locations in parks and abandoned buildings after plying them with alcohol and drugs.
