SY PCC Elections – the fall out begins

Am very grateful to my RikiLeaks ‘snailmail’ informant for this put on Shaun Wrights Twitter feed on 12 November:

This twitpic we think, breaks election Law in a number of respects!

Study closely and remember this was posted on line a full three days before the election!

If you identify any of  the breaches in the above, please let us know in a comment.

If you have information of other offences that may have been committed prior to nomination, during the campaign and afterwards, please contact us either by emailing RikiLeaks or Rothpol, thanks

Shaun Wright Another Important Question?

“Unison, whose members include PCSos and other police civilian staff and is the second biggest in the police after the Police Federation, has said it is “supporting” the campaigns of three Labour candidates, John Prescott in Humberside, Shaun Wright in South Yorkshire and Mark Burns-Williamson in West Yorkshire. “We are supporting them because it is extremely important we have strong representation at the highest level,” said the union’s Yorkshire and Humberside regional officer, Chris Jenkinson.”

Sunday Telegraph. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9637984/Police-and-crime-commissioner-candidates-links-to-killer-doctor.html

This statement by Chris Jenkinson Regional Officer, Unison, raises serious questions of their expectations after the Labour Donkeys are elected? Nudge nudge wink wink!!!

So much for an impartiality declaration eh?

Shaun Wright gets a question?

Irene Furnell’s email to Shaun Wright of today:

“I was furious(still am )as I listened to Radio Sheffield telling me that once again right wing groups are to descend on Rotherham tomorrow.

Quite apart from the massive drain on the police budget people are again worried about their safety and that of their family.

The failure to deal with the grooming of young girls when it first came to light has created this fertile ground for these obnoxious racist right wing groups to target Rotherham .

You were part of the powers that be at that time and must take your share of responsibility. At that time you resigned and ran away from the situation.

South Yorkshire Police have a very tough time ahead.

As well as policing South Yorkshire on a reduced budget they will have to deal with Hillsborough , The grooming of the young girls and possibly Orgreave.

So tell me Shaun -no convince me -why we should vote for you ?”

“Dear Irene,

Thanks for taking the time to write to me.

Given that you have known me for nearly twenty years, from your time as a Labour councillor/stalwart and since, you are well placed to make your determination about how you wish to vote.

I share your frustration at groups such as EDL coming to our town, but please do not make excuses for them. There is NO excuse on earth that justifies their hatred and violence. As you know they march all around the country and we certainly don’t want them in Rotherham.”

Best wishes,
Shaun

Irene has a dim view of the answer with the observation, “Quick reply –fudged answer.”

John Wesley’s Sound Advice

Dear Rotherham Politics readers,

I just came across this most interesting item relating to the amazing John Wesley on 6 October 1774 and thought just how topical this is in the context of the forthcoming PCC elections. His items of advice are thus –

1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy.

2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against.

3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side.

And then I thought to myself, I wonder just how many of the RMBC Corn Fed Grunters, Muppets and Clowns could honestly say that when they voted for Shaun Da Sheep as Rovrum Laybah candidate for South Yorkshire Police & Crime Commissioner that they honestly judged him as the most worthy?

I certainly know from my THT Agents “Garbo” and “ZigZag” that the Corn Fed Grunters, Muppets and Clowns regularly bad-mouth Da Sheep behind his woolly back, so he’s failed on point 2 as well.

Ah well, we’ll get our chance to decide soon, and then active and empowered citizens can sit back and enjoy scrutinising whoever manages to scrape the bottom of the barrel with their votes.

Kind Regards,
Grald-Hunter

Shaun Wright – Makes Private Eye!

Rothpol could not resist bringing readers the good news, which just dropped through my letter box!

Put this way, it seems incredible that Labour selected this incompetent oaf, as their candidate for South Yorkshire Police & Crime Commissioner! It must have been a case of Roger knows best!

Nominations don’t close until Friday, there’s still time for Labour to do something about this simply outrageous situation.

Crompton vs Select Committee – Unconvincing.

Poor performance in lots of ways!

The link to the select committee:
http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=11516&wfs=true

Today’s House of Commons Select Committee, Tuesday 16 October 2012 saw the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police David Crompton  and DCI Philip Etheridge give evidence on the issue of child grooming here in Rotherham.

The committee started its proceedings at 14.47 with the section regarding grooming starting about 15.20/21; it makes for some very disturbing viewing especially when the committee question DCI Philip Etheridge on the number of prosecutions, a very poor performance by both officers.

The Chair Keith Vaz asks some very pertinent questions relating to an incident on Fitzwilliam Road Rotherham and raises the activity of three male members from one Pakistani family from Rotherham.
It appears that the three individuals are still at large, let’s hope they are not driving a Private Hire Vehicle or a Hackney Taxi here in Rotherham or anywhere else for that matter.

What is apparent has been the lack of police resources to address these crimes let’s see what happens going forward that is unless our old friend community cohesion gets in the way and Cllr Hoddinott stops individuals from speaking out!

Has Roger Stone had his invite to go and have a word with the committee?

Cerberus.

Shaun Wright – Still breaking the rules, using forbidden images?

Rotherham Politics reported recently, on Shaun Wright’s abuse of the rules, when using images of Police and connected pictures in his campaigning materials;

What do the rules say?

This was extracted from the full ACPO Guidance, pinched from topofthecops.com, download full pdf here.

How then does Shaun Wright get away with the continued use on his campaign website of these two images that most certainly fall into the category of forbidden images:

These images are still being displayed on Shaun Wrights website, despite being warned about them, on at least two occasions last week by South Yorkshire Police. Ho so?

.

Reader photos most welcome, especially those showing Shaun Wright still using his large display, containing at least two forbidden images in breach of the ACPO Code.

Shaun Wright must think the law does not apply to him?

A pretty disgraceful attitude for a PCC candidate, his election will end in tears!

Rothpol is grateful to Gillian Radcliffe, for pursuing this matter with SY Police which provided the evidence for this posting. Mistakes, omissions all down to Rothpol.

Shaun Wright – being as transparent as mud?

RikiLeaks received this rather interesting email, seems Shaun Wright was being economical with the truth when responding to Don Buxton’s recent enquiries. Time for the truth from Shaun Wright!:

“Cllr Shaun Wright has missed the point and failed to disclose his funding declaration for his selection as Labour PCC. The deadline to submit declarations to the Electoral Commission had expired for the selection campaign some time ago. I understand he is now being investigated by the Electoral Commission in relation to this matter.

I think Cllr Wright has tried to hide the truth and confuse matters as his reply to Don is regarding his current election declarations which is a completely different unrelated matter and does not require disclosure until after 12.11.12.

The question Cllr Wright needs to answer, is he being investigated by the electoral Commission for his selection for PCC campaign YES or NO will suffice. What has he got to hide!!!!

If anyone cannot attend the hustings then you can submit your question for the candidate to answer by clicking on the below link- if enough people ask him the question re Electoral Commission investigation then he will need to answer it at the event.”

Rothpol is grateful to this public spirited citizen for bringing this to our attention.

Don Buxton gets a prompt response – isn’t technology wonderful – two?

Dear “Hill, Emma” Emma.Hill@rotherham.gov.uk

Honestly, no apologies are necessary. I really do appreciate your efforts on my behalf.

I only wish that many other RMBC colleagues could emulate and aspire to the same high professional standards as displayed by yourself, i.e. promptness, professionalism, helpfulness, and courtesy.

Yours Sincerely,
Donald H. Buxton

Dear Mr Buxton

I apologie for the oversight and I confirm that I will make enquiries with colleagues in Democratic Services relating to the availability of declarations of interest for panel members. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

In response to your query about the Council’s website being updated with the information I supplied including names and respective authorities of panel members.  I did actually find this on the Council’s website.  I searched in the google box for Police and Crime and selected the link ‘South Yorkshire Police and Crime Panel’.

Yours sincerely
