Rotherham scandal: ‘Time for decisions’ on allegations against dozens of officers
Action has been demanded over investigations into allegations that dozens of South Yorkshire Police officers mishandled cases linked to the Rotherham grooming scandal.
Police commissioner Alan Billings said victims and accused officers are ‘in limbo’ as they wait for decisions from the Independent Police Complaints Commission on more than 100 allegations of misconduct.

How many of the Chief Constables refused to make sure these allegations were investigated? I can only think, the “book stops there”, isn’t that why they are paid very high salaries?

It’s standard practice for the IPC to takes ages to investigate complaints againist the police, only to sanction those who have retired or left the force or find nothing againist serving officers. It’s a pity we can’t trust the Police to investigate themselves, being they should be held in such high asteem and beyond any form of corruption, but doesn’t that say it all about this organisation.

These 100 would equate to 2000 in Greater Manchester based on 10 times the size and 3 times the relevant ethnic population if this is as active per capita! No wonder our beloved PCC brought in Ann Coffey to cover up.

This particularly blatant example of corruption within the police service illustrates just how institutionalised it has become. These officers, over many years, protected the perpetrators, shared in the profits, conspired to pervert the course of justice, destroyed statements and evidence, harassed and threatened parents who complained, and FAILED to protect the children involved.
I think it’s time for a Royal Commission into police corruption in the UK
