Jailed paedophiles yell Allahu akbar as they are led from court

The girl reported the offences when she was 12 but no action was taken, Sarah Drake, for the prosecution, told the court.

The men’s crimes came to light only when South Yorkshire police began investigating the sexual exploitation of young girls in Rotherham in 2014 after an investigation by The Times.

The court also heard the account of a 13-year-old girl. She was plied with cannabis and alcohol and said that every time she finished a drink Basharat poured her another one. She was put to bed “while out of it”. When she woke up with Basharat and his other brother, Tayab, 33, in bed with her, she quickly realised that she had been raped.

Ms Drake said: “You can be sure that she went to the firework shop and had sex with Basharat in that firework shop after he had worn her down and taken away her freedom to choose. She wanted to chill but he was so persistent that she couldn’t say no, he would go on and on until he got what he wanted and said that if he didn’t have sex it was a ‘shit night’.”

Members of a paedophile gang shouted Allahu akbar in court yesterday as they were jailed for raping and abusing girls aged 11 and 13 after giving them cannabis and alcohol.

Two of the brothers, Basharat and Nasar Dad, groomed the children by spending time “chilling” together in their father’s fireworks shop in Rotherham. They abused the girls at two properties in the town between 1999 and 2001.

Both men raped one victim twice. On one occasion they locked her in a dirty flat without electricity or running water all night and she had to be rescued the next day by her mother.

The girl told police that the two brothers made her feel “like a prostitute”.

At Sheffield crown court yesterday Basharat Dad, 32, was jailed for 20 years after being convicted of six charges of rape, five of indecent assault and one of false imprisonment. Nasar Dad, 36, was jailed for 14 and a half years after being convicted of rape, inciting indecency with a child and false imprisonment.

Judge Sarah Wright said that they had indulged in “cynical and manipulative” behaviour and caused “immeasurable and far-reaching harm”.

As they were led to the cells, Amjad Ali and Tayab Dad screamed Allahu akbar while one of the victims shouted: “It’s justice, we have been waiting 16 years for this.”

In a victim impact statement read out on her behalf, the younger victim said that her childhood had been destroyed as she was drawn into a world of “fear, rape and horrific abuse” that made her turn to drugs. “I felt lost, isolated, trapped, ashamed and completely worthless. I was completely owned by these dirty old men who would do with me whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted.”

The second victim, who has a young daughter, said: “It has affected my entire life and my relationships with men. I feel it is difficult to trust them emotionally and sexually. It has been very difficult over the years to bond with a man.”

Tayab Dad was found guilty of rape and jailed for ten years. Amjad Ali, 36, had admitted sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and was jailed for 11 years. Mohammed Sadiq, 40, and Matloob Hussain, 42, were each found guilty of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and were jailed for 13 years.

Allahu akbar – a phrase used by Muslims in prayers and as a general declaration of faith or thanksgiving.

Well, the term ‘thanksgiving’ is going to be ringing through their heads many many times over the forthcoming years.

  2. They are lucky that they live in UK. In so called Islamic republics they would face death by hanging. What a warped world they live in to shout Allah Akbar after convictions of their heinous crimes.

  3. Well those outbursts prove the establishment view that there is no link to Islam is solid. Funny how Look North failed to mention this, or the ethnicity and religious backgrounds of the attackers.
