More than 80% of people convicted of child-grooming offences are Asian, a report will reveal this week.
The research, by the anti-extremism organisation Quilliam, looked at 58 cases of grooming gangs identified in the UK between 2005 and 2017, which led to 264 convictions for grooming.
Of the 264 offenders, 84% were of Asian heritage, mostly Pakistani; 8% were black and 7% were white.
Haras Rafiq, chief executive of Quilliam, said: “There has been a lot of coverage of grooming gangs recently, ranging from the politically correct, who don’t want to talk about it, and the bigots who want to use it for hate.
“Not talking about it doesn’t make the problem go away, and letting bigots hijack the debate creates further division in society. We as a society need to tackle this head on.”

I don’t know what Quilliam is adding to what is already in the public domain, if anything..At £7.99 a copy of their report I don’t suppose many will be finding out. They sell T-shirts too, which is rather cheesy

Yes individuals having been speaking about it, this blog has for sure and Rik has been the target of some very unpleasant comments.
Two particularly nasty blogs surfaced attacking Rotherham Politics, the followers of the attack blogs used the sites to single Rik out for really nasty comments, his home address was made public and a video was made and distributed to inflame the anti-Rik community.
So Quilliam, what is your view on the two blogs and those misguided individuals who while children in Rotherham were being abused thought it appropriate to take to their keyboards, undermine and attack one determined voice to expose the scale of child abuse in the town?
