  1. So, we create another level of management within the council but we don’t get rid of those who are totally incompetent and were shown to be incompetent by the Casey report. It seems to me that they are rewarding the useless and incompetent in the higher level of management.
Our children are at risk, we drive round on cart tracks instead of roads and still they want ANOTHER level of management or shall we call it incompetence. You just couldn’t make it up!!”

  2. The Paper says “lack of leadership by Members and Officers”, No Sh*t jack, we already knew that. The problem is, those same “members and Officers” are still there. As an active member of the “community” I can state that where I live, there are rumblings rising about the Commisioner`s lack of effort at getting rid of the “not fit for purpose” Cllrs. They are rumbling also about the recent appointments to committees, which were approved by Commissioners. For instance, how can an Ex Member of the Cabinet, who was “sacked” as not fit for purpose” be appointed to Chair the Standards Committee. Anyone like to explain?.

  3. Stuart only the we have changed Rotherham Labour Group could promote and reward Councillors who attended the seminar stated in the Jay report and kept quiet about it and like you say promote a councillor who had to stand down because they were unfit for purpose they are a bigger joke now than before they are total control freaks and they cannot and will not ever change

  4. The deniers and ignoramuses get promoted it seems. Only in local government would such failure be met with reward. The extra layer of management tier creates a buffer for the not fit for purpose guys to sack when the next thing goes wrong, “it weren’t me guv it was the management guy that did it, don’t worry though we’ll fire him. An extra £200,000 to the management wage bill ahead of Gideon George Osbornes next wave of austerity cuts. I wonder where the money will come from?
