Gavin Felton UKIP PCC Candidate makes a promise

Gavin Felton UKIP PCC Candidate  has issued this statement and makes us a promise.

“Firstly, I would like to salute the courage and determination of the victims and their families.

I would also make a solemn promise to all of the people of Rotherham and indeed South Yorkshire, that ALL perpetrators of CSE will be brought to justice.

Further more, a lot more is needed to be done, this is just the start.”

  1. “I would like to salute the courage and determination of the victims…”

Those brave women were “victims” but now they are “survivors”.

Yes, but,… it is not just the perpetrators who need to be brought to justice.

“The IPCC said it had launched 55 separate investigations into how South Yorkshire police dealt with victims, in one of the biggest inquiries into potential neglect of duty and corruption in recent policing history. The police watchdog said that 46 misconduct notices had already been served on 26 officers, and warned the figure could increase.”

…and lets not forget the alleged involvement of some of our ex Borough Councillors in the cover-up.

As someone who spent much of his life in London; it was obvious that much of the Met Police (and even more so the City of London police) had been totally out of order for many many years. All we ever hoped and worked for was for the corruption to stop.
The history of it all is so yesterday.

  2. Despite a victory a trauma is a trauma and despite survival the trauma leaves a permanency upon the psyche. Scars do heal but they can ache for years to come.
These survivor, victims, will need human empathy and some tender loving care more than most of us.
You are right about police and officialdom and long years of failure and even malignancy.
Today with these first prosecutions a small beginning has been made. A long journey is started with a single step.

  3. You state that alot more needs to be done. This is a very vague statement. Specifically what more needs to be done. To convince me to vote for you you need to do better. At the moment Dr Alan Billings has my vote as he has an excellent proven track record.

    • I could mention so much but I will save them for another day, so here are two examples:
Firstly, victim support had to move in to Rotherham police station, yes the police station , I would if I had to use my army pension to move them on to the high street for all to use,

Secondly, never holds the police to account fact.
