Ex-taxi driver guilty of raping teenage Rotherham girl
A FORMER taxi driver has been found guilty of raping a teenage girl in Rotherham 15 years ago.
Asghar Bostan (47, pictured), of East Bawtry Road in Whiston, was convicted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court this afternoon of two counts of rape.

A FORMER taxi driver has been jailed for nine years for raping a teenage girl in Rotherham 15 years ago.
Asghar Bostan (47,pictured), of East Bawtry Road in Whiston, was convicted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court this afternoon of two counts of rape.
He was sentenced to nine years for each offence, to run concurrently, and had a restraining order imposed on him.
His victim, a woman who cannot be named for legal reasons, had the the court Bostan twice attacked her at a flat at a house in Wagon Road, Greasbrough, in or around 2003.
Rotherham taxi driver jailed for raping grooming victim
A taxi driver who raped a teenage grooming victim has been jailed for nine years.
Ashgar Bostan, 47, raped the girl twice at a flat in Wagon Road, Rotherham, when she was about 14 or 15-years-old.
Sheffield Crown Court heard the girl had been groomed by a woman who lived at the flat and was given alcohol and drugs before she was assaulted.
Bostan of East Bawtry Road, Rotherham, was convicted by a jury of two counts of rape by a majority of 11 to one.

Nine-year prison sentence for child rapist
CHILD rapist Asghar Bostan has been sentence to nine years in jail.
The 47-year-old was found guilty of two offences against a girl under 16 in Rotherham between 2000 and 2002.
The victim told the National Crime Agency that she was was given drugs and alcohol, coerced to a flat and raped on two occasions when she was 14 or 15.
Bostan, of East Bawtry Road, was sentenced on Friday afternoon after a week-long trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
Specialist prosecutor Kate Hurst, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Bostan took advantage of a young girl at a time when she was vulnerable.

A Rotherham man has been jailed for nine years today after being found guilty of raping a teenage girl in the town.
Asghar Bostan, 47 from East Bawtry Road, raped his victim twice between 2000 and 2002 after giving her drugs and alcohol, and coercing her into staying at a flat in the town.
His victim, who was under 16 at the time, reported him to South Yorkshire Police in 2014 and the case was referred to the National Crime Agency’s ‘Operation Stovewood’ team, which is investigating child sexual exploitation and abuse in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. To date, 35 individuals have been arrested, 18 have been charged and three have been convicted as part of Stovewood.
