UNISON has secured a council debate on the future of two adult day centres after collecting 6,569 names on a petition.
It is the first time the 2,000-signature threshold has been reached since RMBC lowered the number last summer from more than 10,000.
The union will present its case for keeping open the Addison centre at Maltby and Oaks in Wath at the full council meeting at 2pm today.
And care centre staff and customers are invited to meet outside at 1.30pm to make their feelings known about the proposals.

What is wrong with this mis named labour council?
Its time they examined their consciences or leave it to them that will.
After over 1500 young vulnerable were not safeguarded and subject to abuse….then the cover up.
Now we have adult care centres targeted and the most vulnerable again for cuts or closure….the trauma to the service users and their loved ones.
Its so perverse and brings our party into disrepute.

GED your party is already in disrepute allowing the Councillor’s that knew about CSE and kept quiet to be reselected and then allowing them to be rewarded. With some of the highest paid Councillor’s
