Where are they now – Mark Edgell?

Mark Edgell, who’s he? I hear you say. Mark was a former Leader of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council taking the Leadership after the surprising loss of Keith Billington. Keith was unceremoniously dumped by the Wickersley electorate in the wake of the ‘Anti Poverty’ scandal. Roger Stone, the current Leader, was beaten by Mark Edgell in the vote to succeed Billington. Edgell won that election after some pretty naked Machiavellian tricks were pulled to prevent Stone winning the Leadership on that occasion.

Very clever is our Mark, proving it with a degree in economics and geography and a masters in public sector economics. Mark left the Council to go to work for The Local Government Improvement and Development Agency where he is an LG Improvement and Development Regional Associate, leading in the East Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, North East.
